Who heard all of today's second reading?

We did hear all of it. The deacon didn’t focus his sermon on that reading, though; instead, he spoke about the Gospel passage and gave a really great homily on the Holy Family, and how our families should model ourselves after it–husbands as protectors and providers, as St. Joseph was, wives and mothers as loving, generous souls, as Our Lady was, children after the Christ Child. He recommended that families should pray both together and individually for one another. Really great sermon!
