Peaceful šŸ˜Œ

I just played Super Mario Odyssey for an hour. Iā€™m loving it! šŸ˜€

The only issue I have is some of the motion controls are finicky. Other than that, itā€™s great.

Good to hear. I picked it up, but it will most likely be a Christmas present. So it will still be a couple months before I open it and play it. I canā€™t imagine not liking it, though. Itā€™s Mario!

Still playing through Breath of the Wild. Iā€™m on the Gerudo ā€œdungeonā€ now. With all the time spent playing, itā€™s fun to still encounter new wildlife in the game. The sand seals are fun. šŸ™‚ It continues to amaze me just how large the game is. So many characters and towns and places to go.

Shooter Games for me:

Gears of War
Halo
Army of Two
Combat games in General.

Iā€™m a gamer, pick me! šŸ˜ƒ

Fallout 4, Skyrim and Borderlands 2 are currently the titles Iā€™m bouncing around between.

I think most of us have wrestled with this question already. Certainly, there are games best avoided. I tend toward the bright, cartoony Nintendo games, so Iā€™ve never really had any issues with gaming beyond the general issue of time management. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: So Iā€™ll let others respond with regards to the shooting games. Call of Duty is a war game, though, so it wouldnā€™t necessarily involve murder. Maybe itā€™s a just war. šŸ˜‰

Me. Sadly. I play mostly MMos, RTS like Sins of a Solar Empire and Spore. Elder Scrolls Morrowindā€™s hard for me now. I understand if the Church hates me for playing video games. Iā€™ve been trying to write science fiction books but basically all of my works are crap! Complete and utter crap! If a bishop were to look at them heā€™d say ā€˜yep, thatā€™s hereticalā€™ or ā€˜nope, not publishable and itā€™s immoralā€™. Still, I understand if anyone in the church looks down on those who game.

Been Playing Fallout New Vegas. Great game by Bethesda. full of bugs however. IU love games that can be modded.

I agree that games that glorify murder should probably be avoided, but not games that simply have murder in them. Just as you wouldnā€™t read a book that glorifies murder, but would read a book with murder in it, like the Bible.

Edit: When I play Call of Duty, Iā€™m not entertained by killing, knifing, and shooting. Iā€™m entertained by the skill it takes hitting targets successfully, avoiding detection, working with team members, accomplishing challenges. Itā€™s just a game. I wouldnā€™t mind if the graphics were robots instead of human beings, because killing isnā€™t what is fun about the game. Also like it was mentioned, itā€™s a war game, so I imagine I am protecting the innocent from malicious evil doers. Itā€™s games like Grand Theft Auto that I think are immoral to play.

I think aslong as you understand the difference between reality and computer games i donā€™t think there is an issue. However there are some games that has sex and nudity in them.

Assassinā€™s Creed Origins for me at the moment. Gives a great historical perspective for that time!

I hope to bring conviction and light onto the matter of video games.
I donā€™t quite agree that far, but I too have cut video games out. Especially those like GTA, and Doom, GTA for itā€™s sexual content, blasphemies and vulgarity and Doom because itā€™s based around fighting monsters from hell, so to make it look hellish they put in Pentagrams and I donā€™t know enough about Satanism to know whatā€™s nothing or whatā€™s something, so id rather just stay right away from it. (I never purchased those kind of games and do not ever intend to)

The other games I play, I donā€™t consider detrimental, racing games I think are fine, and other shooting games I think are fine too, I see it as equivalent to paint ball or laser tag kind of enjoyment.
I pray the Lord will use what I have said to talk to those who either havenā€™t thought about this or have been on the fence about it.
Thank you, Iā€™ve been thinking about it and I believe I have cut out games that cross the line no matter how enjoyable they look or might have been otherwise.

God Bless You

Thank you for reading.

Spent most of the time manslaughter and marooning little green man through rockets and explosions

ā€¦

AKA Kerbal Space Program.

I actually play too much that I was thinking how eucharist will be conduct in orbit, and how much delta-V is required to send a bunch of consecrated host into Orbit, and whether to do it through cargo rockets or man-rated rocketsā€¦

I donā€™t think all games are bad but some of them definitely are too much. Obviously we canā€™t play games with a lot of graphic violence or nudity, but another factor is length. Some games are just too long to fit into the average personā€™s life. I think itā€™s fine if someone chooses to play a game as a hobby, but itā€™s easy to get hooked playing more and more constantly updated online games and never have time for anything else.

I used to play a lot of those, but these days I stick to playing classic single player games. I like being able to start and stop whenever I want and not having to keep up with special events or updates to a game. I can just play at my own pace and prioritize the things that are more important to me like friends and family. Right now I am playing Baldurā€™s Gate II. I started with the first game during the summer. Now I am halfway through the second game, but I am in no rush. I will finish the game whenever I get there.
