Nintendo and PC guy here. Really enjoying Steamworld Dig 2, currently.

I’ve been thinking about trying to track down an SNES Classic this month, if they’re sending out new shipments for the holidays. Gotta play that Star Fox 2!

I’m thinking of buying the first Resident Evil re-mastered version for the Xbox.

I never liked zombie films but that game was great.

RE1 (well, it’s remake) is the only one in the series I really got into, personally. 4 was alright-- well made to be sure-- but not really my style. I don’t remember much of 2 or 3. 5 and 6… just no. 😛 And I didn’t like 7 at all.

With a username like @Arwing, I’d have never pegged you for a Star Fox fan. 😜

There was a new mario party for the 3ds release not to long ago. I love mario party, but reviews say this one is average at best. It’s call the Top 100 and it supposedly takes the best mini games from prior mario party titles. Which isn’t a bad idea in theory but only 100 seems like a low number to draw from. But from what I read they don’t have a standard game board mode, which is a shame since thats what i like in mario party. I really wish they would go back to basics and i hope that if they are working on a mario party for the switch, that they will do that. Also, I can’t believe that no one made a rom hack for mario party yet

That’s just Nintendo being Nintendo. They always change things every game, but it’s hit and miss. Sometimes the game ends up really fun and sometimes it ends up bad. Nintendo are one of the true artists of the video game world. It’s worked out so far, and I hope it continues because they make good games for the whole family.

These days in my free time I’m playing Homeworld remastered, a great space RTS.

Ah, that was a good game. I’m excited that the Switch version of Yooka-Laylee is finally coming out next week. I backed them on Kickstarter a couple years ago when it was supposed to be a Wii U release.

@Joe_5859 Did you finish Breath of the Wild yet? I just checked this morning and evidently the second DLC pack was released a couple of days ago. I guess maybe it’s almost time to dust that Wii U off again 😀

Cool, I didn’t realize the second DLC pack was released. I still haven’t completed the game. 😝 I’ve completed 3 of the 4 guardians now. Most recently I have been attempting the Master Swords Trial and it’s kicking my butt. 😔 I may need to set it aside to continue with the rest of the game.

I finally made it through the first portion of the Master Swords Trial in Breath of the Wild. I’m glad they include stopping points like that as I think I’m going to have to psych myself up to go back for the second and third (more difficult) sections. At least my Master Sword got bumped up a little, which is nice.

They added a new ranked mode in Splatoon 2, so that’s been fun, too.

I wanted to make sure to post before Christmas else the thread be closed. 😉

@Joe_5859 You’ve taken quite a while to get through this game 😛 I love how the beginning of the game makes it seem like Zelda is literally seconds away from giving out from containing Ganon in the castle, yet you can basically take your sweet time exploring the world while she waits indefinitely. Maybe they ought to have brought that doomsday timer from Majora’s Mask back lol. I think you need to hurry up as I am imagining that your Switch collection will be augmented in a couple of days 😉

I’m still not done with Ratchet & Clank yet, there were a lot of games in the series. I like coming into a series late since then I don’t have to wait for the next release lol. The latest one I finished, Crack in Time, was pretty decent. The original 3 remade from PS2 were goofy and unserious all the way through, whereas the PS3 ones were silly but at least had a plotline that was intended to be taken seriously. They finally added a space overworld so you can pilot your ship between worlds rather than just select destinations from a menu. There were even these little moons scattered throughout the galaxy that had mini puzzles on them that would earn you collectibles. Sound familiar? Reminded me of the shrines from BotW 😉

Merry Christmas to you and your family! 🎄
