Who here likes video games? Anyone?

You know, it took me an embarrassingly long time to catch on to the word play in the South Park game’s title.
Apparently, it wasn’t going to be subtle originally, but Ubisoft told Trey and Matt that they needed to change the title due to concerns about retailers not allowing the game on their shelves. Personally, I like the name change, though the joke did need to be pointed out to be. Granted, I definitely would have gotten it when the joke came up in the game.
Still not as long as it took me to catch on to Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest = Diddy’s Conquest . Someone just pointed that out to me a few weeks ago. Only took nearly 25 years.
I used to mentally place the " 's " on “Kong” rather than “Diddy”, which prevented me from getting the joke when I first heard of it.

I was just thinking of playing FF8 again sometime, I think I have a digital copy of it for my Vita. The game never quite clicked with me when I first played it years ago, despite there being so many things about it that intrigued me. Superb music too – some of the best in the series, which is saying a lot.

I love Grand Theft Auto games , as well as Red Dead Redemption :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I love Zelda and Mario.

My favorite game of all time is Earthbound for the SNES.

I played some of the other games in that series, but not that one. I’m planning to get the remake for Bowser’s Inside Story.

I’ve been meaning to try the Mario & Luigi series out but haven’t got around to it yet. I should do that someday, especially since Nintendo evidently has no intention of ever doing Paper Mario right ever again 😑 and this seems like the next best thing.

I’ve been trying to pick Destiny 2 back up as my brother plays it. Very Halo-paced for those who cut their teeth on that shooter like I did.

The Paper Mario series is one of my favorites and even though I haven’t played one of the originals I have wanted too. I kind of like SS, even though the plot wasn’t that creative.

I just picked Up inside story recently, since I never got around to playing it. I got about 45 hours logged on Dream Team, it’s a lot longer than I expected. The only other one I played was partners in time and I don’t remember it taking this long. I’d like to pick up the super star saga remake too.

I got maybe 28 hours on my version of Dream Team, but I did the easy version. I got the Super Star Saga remake and it was pretty good.

You know, I’m sort of surprised that, outside of mostly-awful movie tie-ins, the major comic book superheroes aren’t bigger in video games. The fan bases overlap considerably, and Batman: Arkham Asylum showed us ten years ago that there was a lot of desire for good superhero games. They just needed to have more effort put into them than movie-licensed ones typically get.

With that said, my favorite superhero game, comic-book-based or otherwise, is still Saints Row IV. I was already a huge fan of the series’ gameplay, structure, and writing beforehand, and the addition of superpowers and opportunities it opened up made it one of my favorite games of all time.

You should play the original N64 Paper Mario. I believe it is on the eShop, at least it was for the Wii. That one was a gift from the Easter bunny when I was ten 🐇

Pokemon Ultra Sun came in the mail the other day. I like that everything is in 3D now, and that the attack animations are actually somewhat real looking. I am still used to static images that flash when they receive damage and then just drop down off the screen when they faint lol 😁

I got Alpha Sapphire some time ago, the animation was great, but the soundtrack was a bit bland. They used the same theme for three cities so that might be why. I have been planning on getting Paper Mario on the eshop, but I am waiting until I get a new console.

I love Nintendo, played a bunch of Mario games, haven’t been into Zelda. New Super Smash Bros will be out in December!

Finally my wife will have a reason to play the Switch. She’s not too interested in Zelda, Mario, or Splatoon. But she does like Animal Crossing

Good Times 😊
