Who is excited about the Tridium?

It seems to be the time that priests think that it’s acceptable to really mess with the liturgy. Last year the parish I went to left the wine and bread out for adoration at the end of Holy Thursday. The bread was not in a monstrance, but just sitting on the altar. I could have gone and taken some if I didn’t know any better. I can imagine that if no one was in the Church at the time and someone came in there and didn’t know any better, they might have taken some. (Note that this was homemade bread, not the typical wafers that you have at normal parishes)

It’s forbidden to have the Blessed Sacrament exposed in a monstrance on Holy Thursday. It’s to be reserved in a closed tabernacle or pyx.

Yup. But I’d rather have the host in a monstrance than on a table for someone to come up and casually munch on.

I am attending the Triduum of Bishop Bruskewitz this year. I just spent two years in another diocese. It’s good to be home (Rome and Lincoln)!
 
I’m excited. Last year I helped clean the chapel on Holy Thursday and arrange flowers for the side-altar (actually a bureau… very small chapel!) where the Tabernacle was. :love: @–>- What an honor! I will always treasure that memory and I hope someday I can do it again. It was my first time going to Holy Thursday and Good Friday liturgies, too, and Holy Thursday vigil, so that was neat–we never went in my home. This year, I’m going to an Anglican-Use church, so that should be interesting!
