And the false doctrine of Mary? Wouldn’t this fall under the heading of prelest? Don’t be so quick to cast stones.
Are you familiar with the term? Yes or no? I’m puzzled as to what you mean by the false doctrine of Mary? Do you deny that the second person of the Holy Trinity took flesh of a pure virgin?

In Christ,
Andrew

I believe in Christ alone! Solus Christus

I put my faith in nothing else besides JESUS.

It would be simply arrogant to think that God would appoint but a mere man to build his Church and not Jesus Christ himself to oversee it.

Sadly, it is the biggest lie to keep Catholics in bondage to a false religion system that cannot save them.

I was a born and raised Catholic and I thank God he opened my eyes to the simple truth of his salvation at age 42, some 10 years ago.

I will continue to pray for every Catholic on this board. My heart is so burdened for you.
I am so very happy that the Lord opened my eyes to the simple truth of the Church almost one year ago.

How exactly do we reject Sola Christus? We believe that faith is in Christ alone. That salvation is of Christ alone. That worship (Latria) is due to God alone, to Christ alone who is God.

savedbyJesus,

What false Marion doctrines are you talking about exactly?

Marys perpetual virginity:

Protoevangelium of James 150 a.d.
Origen 254 a.d.
St. Gregory 275 a.d.

Immaculate Conception:

St. Hippolytus 236 a.d.
St. Gregory 275 a.d.
St. Augustine 430 a.d.

Devotion to Mary:

Julius Africanus 240 a.d.
St. Gregory 275 a.d.

Mother of God:

St. Hippolytus 236 a.d.
St. Gregory 275 a.d.

You stated in an earlier post that the RCC didn’t exist until “300 years after Jesus.” These teachings were clearly in the 3rd century, not the 4th as you alledge. Therefore, you HAVE to admit that you were wrong about the RCC not existing until the 4th Century, or else these CANNOT be false teachings of the RCC you said didn’t yet exist

Why do you suppose it was** code name **“babylon”

Because they followed the **Babylon Mystery **religion.

When Cesar decreed all to become Christians they simply subsituted Christian names for the things that already existed as Babylonian worship…thus you have Roman Catholicism.

Read the book “The Two Babylons” by Alexander Hislop and if you are so interested in reference there are so many references given in that book you could spend your lifetime following them.

If you look at the dates where Peter was said to be in Rome according to the RCC, the Bible places him elsewhere at the same time. Look it up.
Never heard of this before…
For the last paragraph which dates and verses?
Babylon was code as the Romans were persecuting the Church.

savedbyJesus,

It’s been almost an hour. I AM STILL WAITING on that primary source document from the first fifteen centuries of Christianity that promotes a “personal relationship with Jesus.” PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE show it to me already!

Because you sacrifice him on an altar thousands of times every day for a DEBT he paid one and once alone for ETERNITY.

By “claiming” to re-sacrifice him on an altar for our sins is denying his FREE GIFT of salvation.

Sadly Catholics are decieved into worshipping a false christ in the Eucharist.

Look, with all due respect, can we not get along? Is this what Christ wanted when he prayed for unity? For His followers, who He knew would soon break into a thousand sects who denied His Church, to fight? We may not agree on everything, we may believe we are right and desire the other person to believe as we do, but we must get along. It is no excuse that we believe one of us is wrong to call the other a Pagan, or to say we worship Christ’s mother, or that we do not follow Christ.
In all due respect, you do not understand what we believe. Already, you have stated several Catholic doctrines and said they were in conflict with our beliefs! My advice is to read the Bible and Catechism together, with all of the resources on this website, rather than what Protestants tell you we believe. We worship Christ, I can tell you that much, and if you really believe what you say you believe, is that not enough?

It is not a new sacrifice. Paul himself tells us that Christ died once and for all, and that to sacrifice again and again is of no avail to our sins. We are following Christ’s command to eat His Flesh and drink His Blood. In doing this, we are present in a single sacrifice, which is timeless and for all. Christ died for the sins of those before Him, who would accept Him (it is said He preaches even to the dead) and those of the present and of the future, even the sins that had not then been committed. And in the Eucharist, we join in this single, timeless sacrifice.

Christ died once yet
As often as you do these things - St Paul
Do this in rememberance of me - Jesus

St John quoted Jesus as saying we had to eat his flesh and drink his blood (ch6). His disciple Ignatius within 100 years of Christ’s words wrote “I have no taste for corruptible food nor for the pleasures of this life. I desire the Bread of God, which is the flesh of Jesus Christ, who was of the seed of David; and for drink I desire His blood, which is love incorruptible.” (Letter to the Romans 7:3)

“And how does this support the Catholic Church?”
How do primary source documents demonstrating the acknowledgement of Peters Primacy and the apostolitic succession that proceeded therefrom, as quoted by some of the greatest minds in the history of our religion? I was hoping you’d figure that one out on your own. The idea that Peter WASN’T the rock the Church is built on is completely foreign until Luther, Calvin and company created their own religions within the last 500 years.
Because Calvin and company came to the truth that it was **not **the truth.

saved,

may I please have that primary source document I’ve been begging for-for over an hour now? pretty please?

Great! Then we agree! We do not, Catholics nor Orthodox, worship the Virgin Mary as a goddess. We do not worship her period. She is no deity by any stretch of the imagination. We will say that she is the greatest woman to have lived.

In Christ,
Andrew

saved,

So are you smarter than one thousand and five hundred years of Christian Theologians?

The sacrifice of the mass is an un-bloody sacrifice that happened/happens when Jesus was crucified 2000 years ago. This is happening / happened at the same time. It is not a repeat, it is the the same thing. Remember that only humans are confined in time. God is outside of time and is not confined by its’ rules or laws. Spend some time in the Book of John especially chapter 6. It seems to me ( and I do not want to sound uncharitable ) that your education and understanding of the Catholic Church was lacking, but never fear, God has a plan for you and all you have to do is study and respond to His truth.

Saved,

Augustine, Tertullina, anybody…just one itsy bitsy quote from 1,500 years of Christianity emphasizing a “personal relationship with Jesus”

Pretty please, primary source document

pretty pretty please?
