From what i understand, “Wisdom” was there at the moment(s) of initial creation. i have heard that “Wisdom” is feminine. What the heck does this really mean? concrete answers please and thank you!
Wisdom is the Holy Spirit. The gender of the noun isn’t really relevant as the 3 Persons of the Trinity are Spirit and thus, genderless. From what i understand, “Wisdom” was there at the moment(s) of initial creation. i have heard that “Wisdom” is feminine. :bigyikes: Jesus was Genderless???Wisdom is the Holy Spirit. The gender of the noun isn’t really relevant as the 3 Persons of the Trinity are Spirit and thus, genderless.
Exactly, it’s like calling a car a “her”.Wisdom is the Holy Spirit. The gender of the noun isn’t really relevant as the 3 Persons of the Trinity are Spirit and thus, genderless.
Or refering to all dogs ‘he’ and all cats ‘she’Exactly, it’s like calling a car a “her”.
Well, I wouldn’t say “just” the Holy Spirit. Certainly Wisdom as the Person of the Trinity is certainly the Holy Spirit. But human wisdom–the human ability to absorb and use wisdom, directed by the Holy Spirit, is the “handmaid” of God and man. That may be where some of the confusion comes from.off topic! so this “she” Wisdom is just the Holy Spirit?

Wisdom has been associated with Mary, addessed as a feminine noun (her, she) in proverbs and other places, and forshadowed in the stories of the great women of the Old Testament such as the story of Judith. From what i understand, “Wisdom” was there at the moment(s) of initial creation. i have heard that “Wisdom” is feminine. The use of “:Wisdom” in the OT predates the Incarnation, at which time the 2nd person of the Trinity was, indeed, genderless, the noun had gender and so Wisdom (Holy Spirit) is referred to as “she” when translated because we just don’t use “it” for a Person.:bigyikes: Jesus was Genderless???
Uh - YOU were the one who brought up Wisdom as being referred to in the feminine. So, yes, it’s entirely on your topic to point out why. I don’t think there is any “just” about God.off topic! so this “she” Wisdom is just the Holy Spirit?
The writer of the Gospel according to John associates (via midrash) this divine wisdom with the logos, which is Christ (cf. Prov. 3:19, 8:30; John 1:1-2).off topic! so this “she” Wisdom is just the Holy Spirit?

I believe Proverbs3:15 says “Wisdom is a Tree of Life” but further in Proverbs 4:22 on it is referring to Jesus in creation playing before the Father and all things being created through him. I have also herd it being the Holy Spirit, with the Bride of Jesus Christ “The New Jerusalem” The Church in Heaven. The Book of Proverbs takes a lot on “Wisdom of God”.From what i understand, “Wisdom” was there at the moment(s) of initial creation. i have heard that “Wisdom” is feminine. English is a gender nuetral language; Spanish and the other romantic languages are gender biased…From what i understand, “Wisdom” was there at the moment(s) of initial creation. i have heard that “Wisdom” is feminine. What the heck does this really mean? concrete answers please and thank you!
…or both since Wisdom emantes from… well… Wisdom: the other Paraclete. The 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit are
Understanding
Counsel (Right Judgment)
Fortitude (Courage)
Knowledge
Piety (Reverence)
Fear of the Lord (Wonder and Awe)
Wisdom
So all of these are from the Holy Spirit and therefore accessible through the Holy Spirit. I think Wisdom is not so much a “Who”, as an aspect of God’s gifts to men. A gift not given to plant or animals. Only to man and angels.
