This is a tough one because they all are my hero. I picked Fr. Corapi because I have had personal interaction with him and he took time to offer me spiritual advice. He is an incredibly holy and humble man.

God bless him!

As of April 28, 2006 Pope Pius XII had not been beatified so I guess its a bit early to call him Venerable.
Father Gumpel is preparing written answers to their questions, and before the summer he expects a definitive meeting on the cause. If the historians and theologians approve it, it goes to the full Congregation for Saints’ Causes for similar approval, then to Pope Benedict for an ultimate decision.
Once Pope Pius’ heroic virtues are declared, the church must recognize two miracles attributed to his intercession, one before his beatification and another before his canonization.

And here is a brief statement from July 19, 2006
Despite some complaints that he failed to take action against the Holocaust, Pope Pius XII is a candidate for beatification. The postulator for his cause, Father Peter Gumpel, has said that the cause is proceeding normally, with beatification likely in the next few years.

But maybe he was. Beatification means that we call the beatii “blessed.” “Venerable” is the stage before “Blessed.”

JP2 (The Great)

He lived as a fearless Catholic and died a fearless Catholic. What an example for the Faith. I have been inspired by him in so many ways. I feel blessed to have lived at a time when he walked this Earth.🙂

St. Therese of the Andes of Jesus

The first Chilean saint.

She felt her call from God and obeyed Him always. He was her only true love in life. She suffered greatly in life yet was always smiling. She realized her life’s dream(to join the Carmelites) and died at a young age(20) soon after. Her devotion to God was one I strive for each day. She’s my true inspiration.

The Venerable Pius XII and Mr. Christopher Gainey. I’ll bet no one has heard of the latter but he’s responsible for my entrance into the Church. Two wonderful men indeed. They also look alike.

I had the amazing blessing of meeting and going to mass with my hero from the list - Mother Teresa! I grew up in Rochester, Minnesota, and when I was 7, she came to the Mayo Clinic to have a pacemaker put in. During the time she was there, she attended mass at my parish, sitting very discreetly in the back. She didn’t want any distraction, and a lot of people didn’t even know she was there. (It’s a good sized church). On the way out though, I remember her coming up to me and putting her hand on my head and saying hello to me and my mother!

(I do remember her being very tiny, as she wasn’t that much taller than me at the time! lol)

I voted fro JP II. However I have three more and they were shepherds in Fatima in 1917!

Blesseds Jacinta and Francisco Marto and dear Sr Lucia.

My 20th Century heros: Fr. John Hardon, Malachi Martin, His Holiness Benedict XVI.

My ALL TIME hero: His Holiness Blessed Pius IX.
