What do you think the dog would say?
Before I moved into the White House, I used to live with King Solomon a long time ago. This is what I heard him say on the subject:

The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord;
he turns it wherever he will. - Proverbs 21

Can the king’s heart turn away from the hand of the Lord? Can it choose not to turn where God wills?

Are you asking the dog, or King Solomon? Before I lived with King Solomon, I lived in the palace of King David. Here is what King David had to say on the subject:

The Lord foils the plans of the nations; He thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations. Psalm 33:10-11

I doesn’t matter. If you truly believe that Jesus’ life was taken and not Given, you are in error.
I think happilycatholic was given a deeper understanding of Christ and Him crucified by God. Do you know what passage of Scripture that is important to our topic. It is from one of the major major major OT prophets. I also like your signature of

Be Still And Know That I Am God
Psalm 46:10

I think most Christians need to dig deeper into the cross to understand your signature and embrace that command to be still and know God is in complete control.

Do you believe Christ was crucified “by” God?

I give full credit to The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit of course, who has the same message for all.

But I offer this:

**If any group or individual was successful in “taking” Christ’s life then God relinquished that moment of control. That is not so. ****God is never out of control. He has known us for eternity and knows the very hour of our death as well. **

You cannot take something that is freely given, you can only receive it.

**I think you misunderstand. God in no way crucified Christ. That was a means chosen by man and it has nothing to do with Christ’s willingness to lay down His life. The means of delivery has nothing to do with the Gift. **

Isaiah 53

The Suffering Servant
Code:
  Who has believed our message?
     And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot,
And like a root out of parched ground;
He has no stately form or majesty
That we should look upon Him,
Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.

He was despised and forsaken of men,
A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
And like one from whom men hide their face
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted.

But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.

All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him.

He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He did not open His mouth;
Like a lamb that is led to slaughter,
And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers,
So He did not open His mouth.

By oppression and judgment He was taken away;
And as for His generation, who considered
That He was cut off out of the land of the living
For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due?

His grave was assigned with wicked men,
Yet He was with a rich man in His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.

But the LORD was pleased
To crush Him, putting Him to grief;
If He would render Himself as a guilt offering,
He will see His offspring,
He will prolong His days,
And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand.

As a result of the anguish of His soul,
He will see it and be satisfied;
By His knowledge the Righteous One,
My Servant, will justify the many,
As He will bear their iniquities.

Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great,
And He will divide the booty with the strong;
Because He poured out Himself to death,
And was numbered with the transgressors;
Yet He Himself bore the sin of many,
And interceded for the transgressors.

Now be kind enough to make your point…

I mean I and everyone knows the point of the passage, what I don’t know is the point you are trying to make.

I haven’t read all the answers but here is mine. No one “killed” Jesus, He gave His life and the ones who wanted Him dead carried the excecution. Why? there isn’t only one reason. Here is Jesus telling them, i preach and teach and explain and heal and raise from the dead and you doubt or refuse to listen, yet i will carry on till the end even till death. Here is Jesus saying, you think you have power? you have nothing, do everything you can in the name of what you “think” is power, and I will show you what real power is, the power of He who has power over death. Here is Jesus saying, you think hatred and killing is the solution, hate and destroy and i will rebuild. Here is Jesus saying , do you want to know how much I love you, here is my life for you. Here is Jesus saying, do you want me to prove who I Am, I will. Here is Jesus saying, do you want to know about love, this is love.

It is the biggest challenge and display of love and real power ever by turning the notions and concepts held by people about love and power upside down.

In a human argument, do you think Jesus committed suicide?

He Who did Not Spare His Own Son But Gave Him Up for us all, how will He not also with Him Graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:32)

“For God so Loved the world, That He Gave His Only Son, That Everyone Believing In Him should not perish but have Eternal Life.” (John 3:16)

“for truly in this city there were gathered together Against Your Holy Servant Jesus, Whom You Anointed, Both Herod and Pontius Pilate, Along With the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, To Do Whatever Your Hand and Your Plan Had Predestined To Take Place.” (Acts 4:27-28)

“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did Through Him in your midst, as you yourselves know –
this Jesus, Delivered Up According To The Definite Plan And Foreknowledge Of God, you Crucified and Killed By the hands of lawless men.” (Acts 2:22-23)

“By this we know Love, That He Laid Down His Life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the Brothers.” (1 John 3:16)

“For this reason the Father Loves Me, Because I Lay Down My Life That I May Take It Up Again. No One Takes It From Me, But I Lay It Down Of My Own Accord. I have Authority To Lay It Down, and I have Authority To Take It Up Again. This Charge I have Received from My Father.” (John 10:17-18)
