If the Father sent Jesus “to die”, it means someone had to betray Jesus, it means Judas had no choice but to betray Jesus, it means Judas is in hell because God created Judas to do something which will lead to his damnation, it means there is nothing called free-will. There is difference between foreknowledge, and predestination.

I am only trying to grow your love for God in Christ. That is my motive. Please consider how the Apostle Paul had to speak to the church. The messengers on divine revelation caused the messenger to be stoned. I an not trying to be an Apostle Paul or a prophet. But you guys are reacting in the flesh. God is eternal; therefore nobody can kill God. Yet, we know Jesus died. So, how can the 2nd person of the Trinity die? Who is the sustainer of all of life? Who can possibly kill God? Do you think Jesus was stripped of His deity on the cross?

Your original question was not if Jesus died it was who “killed” Jesus and why. Jesus did indeed die but his life was not taken it was given. We understand that fully. I’m not sure why you are pushing the envelope by the nature of your posts, i.e. suicide.

God’s love is poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit (rom 5). Our affection and love for God grows with deeper understanding of the truth of Christ and Him crucified for sinners. How well do we understand what Jesus Christ accomplished for us by His incarnation, sinless life, perfect obedience to the Father’s will, and sacrifical death?

God the Father poured out His righteous wrath on Christ on behalf of Christians. Christ received what we deserved, the eternal wrath of God for our sins. And in return, we receive what Christ merited by His perfect life which is His sufficient righteousness. There is a great exchange of our sin for Christ’s righteousness.

If you are trying to convence us that your goal is to bring folks closer to Christ you may want to focus on the reasons why this passage is NOT insinuating Christ committed suicide.
It seems, for whatever reason, you are at odds with this passage and how it relates to God giving His Son and Christ giving Himself and further how they are one and the same.
Are you at odds with Christ giving Himself? Is the only way you can reconcile that Gift in your mind to equate it with suicide? If that is true you may want to seek religeous counsel because I doubt anyone here can explain it in a way that you should hear it and folks tend to be uncharitible in their defense of our Lord Jesus at times.

Let that go. I wrote it in human terms. The Apostle Paul does that quite a bit. Let’s stay with the death of Christ as being the will of God the Father. That concept should be sufficent for our discussion. I need to get off for the day. I hope we will reflect on the ordained death of Christ until we can discuss at another time.

There is a thread going on called God is love. It is a discussion about the wrath of God. I did not create it. Let me find it and post the link to it. I really believe the deeper we understand Christ and Him crucified, the more we will grow in our love and affection for God. It is finished is related to what Christ accomplished for us in His life and death.
