This question was asked in an another thread, as a side-question. But I think this calls for a new thread to be discussed in length. So, "who killed Jesus (Catholic’s G-d)?"

God killed Jesus as a child for David 's sin, and took David’s Messiah away. The Kingdom of Israel split in half and was finally wiped out.

God resurrected Jesus into Mary and killed Jesus on the cross for Israel’s sin, and took Israel’s Messiah away. They lost their Temple and were punished for centuries.

While in the meantime, Jesus trusted God to kill him and each time he was resurrected into greater glory so he will eventually return as David’s Messiah and fulfill God’s promise to David.

Thus Jesus was not crucified, as in the manner of an execution by the cross, and Jews and Romans didn’t kill him. God killed Jesus on the cross, just like the Quran says

"who killed Jesus?"
Whoever was that who nailed his hand and his feet on the wood fashioned into a cross, and then had it erected up and left him there to die.

He died there for sure. Also culpable was the person who did what was an added insurance for the death to really take place was the person who pierced his side with a spear until blood and water drained out of his lifeless body.

Any other answer will be pure speculation and conjecture which only drags a short story long, that leads to no ultimate conclusion. There is no other report of the crucifixion as detail and as precise as the ones found in the four Gospels of the Christian Bible.

Peace.

Hi

A good and smart question.

Thanks

Hi

I think that is not what Quran says. It is true that every man dies as destined by GodAllahYHWH, nevertheless there are different modes of death, the humans die. As for Jesus Quran says:

**The Holy Quran : Chapter 4: Al-Nisa’ **

[4:156] So, for their breaking the covenant, and their denial of the Signs of Allah, and their seeking to slay the Prophets unjustly, and their saying: ‘Our hearts are wrapped up in covers,’ - nay, but Allah has sealed them because of their disbelief, so they believe not but little -
[4:157] And for their disbelief and for their uttering against Mary a grievous calumny;
[4:158]** And for their saying, ‘We did slay the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah;’ *whereas they slew him not, nor did they bring about his death upon the cross, but he was made to appear to them like one crucified; and those who differ therein are certainly in a state of doubt about it; they have no certain knowledge thereof, but only pursue a conjecture; and they did not arrive at a certainty concerning it.
[4:159] On the contrary, Allah exalted him to Himself. And Allah is Mighty, Wise.

  • wa ma qutaluhu yaqinun- is also translated- the definitley could not kill him.
This would mean Jesus died naturally later, and exalted like other ProphetsMessengers of GodAllahYHWH.

Thanks

Hi

I would like to mention here that the **PromisedMessiah 1838-1908 **has analyzed this scenerio:

Among the testimonies of the gospels is the verse, 'The Jews, therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the Cross on the Sabbath day (for that Sabbath day was an high day), besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

Then came the soldiers and broke the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was dead already they broke not his legs: but one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water’. These verses clearly show that in order to put an end to the life of a crucified person it was the practice in those days to keep him on the Cross for several days, and then to break his legs, but the legs of Jesus were purposely not broken, and he was taken down alive from the Cross, like the two thieves.

That was the reason why there came out blood when his side was pierced. The blood however, conceals after death. And, here, it appears also that all this was the result of a conspiracy. Pilate was a God-fearing and a good-hearted man; he could not openly show favour to Jesus for fear of the Caesar; for the Jews had declared Jesus a rebel.

All the same, Pilate was lucky to have seen Jesus but the Caesar was not so fortunate; the former not only saw Jesus but also showed him a great favour – he did not desire that Jesus should suffer crucifixion. The gospels point out clearly that Pilate had several times resolved to let Jesus go, but the Jews said that if he would let him go he would be disloyal to Caesar; they also said that Jesus was a rebel who wished to be king.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church
**598 **In her Magisterial teaching of the faith and in the witness of her saints, the Church has never forgotten that “sinners were the authors and the ministers of all the sufferings that the divine Redeemer endured.” Taking into account the fact that our sins affect Christ himself, the Church does not hesitate to impute to Christians the gravest responsibility for the torments inflicted upon Jesus, a responsibility with which they have all too often burdened the Jews alone:

We must regard as guilty all those who continue to relapse into their sins. Since our sins made the Lord Christ suffer the torment of the cross, those who plunge themselves into disorders and crimes crucify the Son of God anew in their hearts (for he is in them) and hold him up to contempt. And it can be seen that our crime in this case is greater in us than in the Jews. As for them, according to the witness of the Apostle, “None of the rulers of this age understood this; for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” We, however, profess to know him. And when we deny him by our deeds, we in some way seem to lay violent hands on him.
Nor did demons crucify him; it is you who have crucified him and crucify him still, when you delight in your vices and sins.

  • The Catholic sinners
Hi

So no-one else killed Jesus; neither the Jews nor the Romans or the Demons could killed him, perhaps our friend Jimmy B means the Catholic sinners or the Magestrium ( no offence intended) is responsible for that. Maybe our friend is yet focused elsewhere in abstraction; I don’t think the Magestrium or the Catholic sinners are in any way involved in this heinous crime against one of the innocent fruits of the humanity. Just impossible

I think that my friend would rethink and revise his post accordingly to make it more rational and reasonable.

I don’t mean that the sinners should continue sinning; sins are to be avoided whatsoever.

Peace

Thanks

Who killed Jesus?

Easy. The entire human race did. It is not the Jews, but everyone. Every one sin. During the Passion of Christ, Jesus saw before him the sins of all mankind from Adam down to the last sinner. The disobedience of the human race was so great that Jesus’ sweat blood. That is why they call it the agony of the Garden.

Summary: Sinners killed the Creator.

Jimmy B,
Thanks for posting this. It speaks so clearly as to the truth about who killed our Savior. It seems to me that we (Christians) benefit the most from His death, and therefore hold the greatest responsibility for it. When this conversation comes up, I am reminded of the wonderful lenten hymn, “Ah, Holy Jesus”, the second verse of which is:

Who was the guilty? Who brought this upon thee?
Alas, my treason, Jesus, hath undone thee.
Twas I, Lord Jesus, I it was denied thee.
I crucified thee
.

BLessing,
Jon

It’s the truth. Sinners killed Jesus. This was the Father’s Will so on his death, our sins would die with him. Without Christ’s death, there would no resurrection.

Our Liturgy made this clear, "Dying your destroy our death, rising you restored our life. Jesus, come in glory.
