Does anyone have any opinions regarding Rozen Maiden? I have a giftcard to spend at the mall, and none of the stores have the biggest selection of anime, but this one at least looked sort of interesting. The art I’ve seen is very, very pretty, but I like to read reviews and such before I spend $60 on the series.
I also pre-ordered Simoun which is apparently being re-released in June. It’s definitely a niche title (being part of the yuri genre). Apparently it’s like someone put Last Exile – Fam the Silver Wing and The Left Hand of Darkness into a blender.

Absolute not! I object! For one thing, the anime would’ve be a lot better if there wasn’t that stupid filler block before Shippuuden. However, if we’re talking just the manga, the story is pretty well done for something of its length. It’s not that dragging and everything that happens prior still ends up playing a very significant plot-point.
I may be the only active Narutard in this entire forum (and hereby risk my credibility due to obvious bias >_<;; ) but I swear, it’s not as bad as some whiners on 4chan say it is.

I’ll try the manga then. I don’t want to waste my time seeing 100 filler episodes according to TV tropes. Also, what do you think of Bleach still? Also, whats so great about Mahou Sensei Negima? I was actually going to watch it but after hearing about a character being a ‘panty thief’ and the copious amounts of fanservice MSN contains, I passed to be honest.

This may seem off topic I’ve become such an anime fanatic that I’ve been even cooking Asian food. No more instant noodles, I cooked some carrot, singer, onion, cabbage, etc… with some hoisin and soy sauce and chilli and though it was a tad too spicy for my liking (as in, it made my mouth burn), I loved it even though I couldn’t finish it. My mom loved it. Also, curiously, my mom LOVES my fried rice even though neither I nor my dad and sister like it very much.*
Now I want to make pad thai as it looks delicious. Here’s Gordon Ramsay’s take on the dish (warning: may contain strong language: youtube.com/watch?v=DsyfYJ5Ou3g) Does anyone here know how to do it? I’ve seen many japanese or chinese cooking channels like cooking with dog (its implied that the dog, Francis, is narrating. Could Francis be a Sohma?) and I love their food although I honestly would never put some fatty fish cake in my noodles. We went to the store today and I bought some bean sprouts, fish sauce, noodles and chopsticks (seriously LW, how can you people eat with those things witout tiring your pinkie?!) and I’m only sad that I didn’t buy some nut paste or something and some coconut milk.
Though not Japanese or Asian, the worst thing I have ever had was some oven cooked rice that consisted of a bland mixture of mince, corned beef and peas. Bleh! I’d rather drink grease than eat that dish it was that bad. Another time, my sister brought me from some cheap takeaway a burger that was amde out of bacon and mayonnaise. That it. the bun was soggy, the filling over loaded, the mayonnarisse was disgusting, there were no vegetables and they was no beef or ham patty: the bacon wass the patty. I threw it away after a few bites it was that bad! You know, I’ve become very enthusiastic about cooking lately. I’ve learned a lot of techniques and what not and seeing all that delicious japanese food on TV makes me want to eat it.
*She’d eat two plates if she could! I grate some carrots, chop some onion and garlic and peas and cook them with some ginger. After they’re cooked, I put in my already cooked rice (which I cook by putting 1 part rice with 2 parts water together with some salt and butter and leave it to steam for like twenty minutes) and I whisk an egg or two and put them in last. It gives the rice a smoother texture. I don’t see the point of cooking as egg before cooking anything else if its not going to give the rice much flavour or color. Also, to top it all off, I put in a bowl some shrimp with olive oil, parika and salt, fry them in a seperate pan and then I put all of that on the fried rice.

Ugh, sadly I can’t comment on Bleach because for some reason, I’ve been and still am neglecting to continue. >_<;;;
As far as Negima is concerned, yes it’s chock full of fan service. However, I will say right now that despite that, it shows that Ken Akamatsu can be capable of making his own fantasy shounen. Honestly, we’re talking about a guy who’s still being known for only fan service and romance. This series can challenge that view. The art in the fight scenes rival that of Naruto and Fairy Tail. There are typical harem tropes but there are also epic shounen tropes added in really well (especially around the end).
My only gripe is that the ending felt so, sooo rushed… TwT

There was that other pairing (not involving Negi but another boy his age) though it was only revealed around the end when the two parties were both much, much older.
Although, I’m kinda with you about the age gap thing. I feel a bit biased when saying this but I prefer pairings where the guy is older than the girl (or at least taller).
P.S.
Yeah the fan service is plenty but I tell you the action scenes are like high-level shounen intense!

While I am of course (duh!
) not against older girls dating younger boys in fiction, with Tomoya being younger than Nagisa by about a year, I have to say I do prefer it the way you do. Its not becuase I expect younger girls to always be weaker so as to be saved by the boy; Mary Immaculate is smaller than God yet She 'in’directly contributed to our salvation by giving Jesus His own body by Her own flesh. I say 'in’directly because giving someone the means to save us and accepting us as Her children is no small feat you know. I love girls (thats an unfortunate choice of words) who are strong and save the day, with Wonder Woman, Oracle/Batgirl, Lucy/Nyu, Arya and Catelyn Stark, Brienne of Tarth, Asuka and Yuki Nagato being my favorite female characters.Also, has anyone here tasted Pad Thai? Anyone? By the way, an update on my epic prank. My sisters coming tomorrow night so there’ll be plenty of time for the balloons to stay inflated. I’m not finished yet though; I still need to blow up some more so as to fill the room to overflowing, or at least enough to make my sister gawk with despair at the all the cleaning she has to do after all is said and done
. I assure you, the back of my sis’s room is BRIMMING with balloons.Also, just saw the Avengers. It was excellent, no doubt about it. I wouldn’t call it the greatest superhero movie ever, and I wish there was more focus on the characters but for a superhero film, its very good, one of the better ones. The climax was satisfying and the films message really made me think. Whats the point of removing a threath if you’re just going to hurt what you are supposed to protect?

Just picked up the first two volumes of twenty century boys. Is it good? Its made from the same guy who made monster which I hear is a very good story.
By the way, my sister came back today. I brought my camera at the airport and normally, my sister thinks I’m a cloud cuckoolander goofball. She eventually gave up on trying to stop me filming her as she knew I was just joking aound. She did NOT suspect even in the least what awaited her when she entered her room. Yes, she was flabbergasted. She could do nothing but gawk like a goofball when she saw all those balloons. She rummaged around trying to make sense of the situtation when she finally literally told me that I didn’t have anything to do while she was gone. It was worth it. Thanks to Mary, we had a parking space smask right in front of our house so I had time to get my camera out.
You know, strange thing is that like L, I’ve suddenly become a sweet tooth. I’m constantly eating sweets; I hear that sugar helps the brain to think. Its not very healthy I know so, yeah, I’m so not saing this in order to not seem gluttonous.
