Note: Those list you mention included the Eastern Rite Catholic Churches that is in full communion with Rome.

Christ established one Church, one Body not all of these!!!
Haha I must have missed that glad to have them back!!

um… … yeah and as I recently saw Vladimir Putin speaking at the Russian Orthodox Church… kinda turned everybody off I think. Anyways, I have to go to bed. I talk to you guys tomorrow.

God Bless 🙂

They fell into heresy and were excommunicated. I admit it wasn’t the most prudent thing to do by coming right into their divine liturgy and slamming it down. It did make a point though. There was no more discussing time. My question is why would you break away from the Church for this reason?

Don’t go to them they deny the Pope as the successor of St. Peter. Christ established that and it is to be kept! The Church has taught that falling into heresy is a grave sin against the Church that Christ established.
They do not deny the bishop of Rome as the successor of St. Peter. They just do not acknowledge that the Bishop of Rome have authority over all the other Churches. I am not here to debate the issue.

Just consider the possibilities if the bull of excommunication was not done. It was also invalid because the Pope Leo died, and the Legates and Lumbart issued the bull anyway even though, it was invalid since the Pope died. The damage was already done, and the split was complete. If there was no bull, I personally think the Protestant Reformation would never had happen.

I think the Pope could have use other means to resolve issues with the Eastern Churches.

It had to be done though if they were to fall into heresy. The Church isn’t going to say “well we will let them go so we don’t make anybody upset”. They deny many things about the papacy.

I only know the basics about the schism. Just remember that the Catholic Church is the true Church. Don’t leave home. Talk to your Catholic Priest about the problems that you are having. Please talk to him, don’t delay. I will be praying for you.

God Bless 👍

Not heresy. The EO and CC are in the state of Schism. Heresy is teaching something that is not “correct” Christian doctrine or dogma.

Heresy would be more like Arianism, Nestorianism, Eastern Orthodox are not heretics.

Why would you leave the Church that Christ established though to join one that was broken away? Please talk to your Catholic Priest or Catholic Spiritual Director. I am aware that they have valid apostolic succession and have the Body of Christ. All these sacraments are illicit though.

You have heard “I am a sceptic!” There is one problem with that, you’re not sceptical enough! The Christian is sceptical of all human wisdom. We are certainly NOT opposed to reason – we have preached fides et ratio from the beginning. We are not blinded by our pride – humans can error, and therefore our philosophies can be in error. So our faith is rooted in the Holy Spirit, not in the wisdom of men.
