The answer, Tradition, Sacred Scripture, and Church authority. My question is why would you dismiss it? One of the reasons that I put this here is because of protestants saying “Do Catholics even read the Bible? Where are they getting all this stuff from???” Well this is it!
God Bless![]()
No. The Bible doesn’t teach it, nor did the Apostolic Fathers, the Early Church Fathers, the Council Fathers.Let me ask you a question was sola scriptura ever taught in the Bible? No it was not. Then how could you only rely on scripture!

What is it about the EO that has you considering it. Or is it something with Catholicism that has you looking from something else?Pray for me then. I have consider about the Eastern Orthodox for a while but never made a bold move to take it into action.
Rome’s bull excommunication with the Patriarch of Constantinople in 1054 AD made by two Papal Legates. I think that excommunication should have not been used and that any issue between Western Church in Rome and Constantinople should have been more discuss the problem and the Pope should have sent someone who know Eastern cultures and norms.I will but I really urge you to talk to your Catholic Spiritual director about this. If I may ask what is your reason for wanting to leave the Catholic Church?

They fell into heresy and were excommunicated. I admit it wasn’t the most prudent thing to do by coming right into their divine liturgy and slamming it down. It did make a point though. There was no more discussing time. My question is why would you break away from the Church for this reason?Rome’s bull excommunication with the Patriarch of Constantinople in 1054 AD made by two Papal Legates. I think that excommunication should have not been used and that any issue between Western Church in Rome and Constantinople should have been more discuss the problem and the Pope should have sent someone who know Eastern cultures and norms.
