Who wants to talk about baby names? (again)

Seems logical, but I don’t necessarily think that how a baby comes through the birth canal is always the most accurate representation of how he’s going to look forever.
Well, yeah. That’s how you end up with senior citizen ladies named Miracle, or Heaven, or Princess, or whatever. 😛 It was a good idea when they were born, but at some point, it starts sounding a little too cutesy, or like you have a certain kind of career going on… 🙂

Perhaps some cultures have it right-- giving someone a “milk name” for when they’re a baby, and then giving them an “adult name” later on in life, after they’ve established their character!

Congrats!

Have you heard of the blog Sancta Nomina? It’s about Catholic baby names. She does consultations, too!

What about Elise or Hannelore? They remind me of Annalise.

I put Annalise, Tobin, and Francis into BabyNameWizard’s Matchmaker and got: Adelaide, Susannah, Gretchen, Corinna, Charity, Audra, Davina, Rosanna, Sonia, Cecily, Anne, Angela, Daphne, Deirdre, Rosemary, Annemarie, Monica, Jill, Veronica, Arabella, Christabel, Joy, Aimée, Demetria, Coraline, Lynette, Tamara, Felicity, Adela, Heidi, Marian, Bridget, Christina, Eloise, Jane

My favorite names that I can’t use are: Clara, Amelia, Emilia, Beata, Pia, Mary, Maria, Naomi, Melanie, Isabel, Beatrice, Corinne, Grace, Mercy, Cecilia, Celia, Eva, Lucy.

Congratulations! I used to babysit several years ago for a little girl name Anelise María and she looked very much like your oldest. Her older sister was María Victoria. In my classroom over the last few years there have been many Sofias, Olivias and Harpers. My daughter is Carmen Elizabeth but I’ve always loved the names Maria, Ximena, Joan and Amy. Regardless of what name you choose I’m sure it will be the perfect fit for your family.

Maria Christina, Lily-Marie Christine, Camille Anais (Ah-na-Ees),
Lily Victoire, Emma-Kate Marie, Anna Maria (Our Lady and her mother).

Remember, people will probably nickname him or her no matter what.

Congratulations!

Congratulations! I love all the suggestions. I do love Clare for a girl. In naming my two, I wanted names that couldn’t be made into nicknames or names that were trendy. I think so many of the saints names are beautiful.

I think you want something not too stale or conventional but neither too trendy or cutesy or off the charts dramatic. Go for pretty, unique, graceful, a name that will stand out and last over the years. Ideally you like what it means too.

Anne; Annika; Annalie; Anneli; Hannah
Sylvia; Sylvie
Carmen
Clare; Clara
Sophia; Sophie
Camille
Sasha
Natalia; Natalie
April
Claudia
Adelaide (Addie); Alicia
