I honestly don’t think anyone here is trying to insult you. It’s nice to have additional insight and thoughts about things. I think perhaps you are a bit defensive? Not saying I blame you of course, specially if you truly thought, or think that your beliefs are 100% Catholic. I would get offended if I thought that, and was told I didn’t by other Catholics. Think everyone is just saying that we think if you proclaim to be Catholic, and are here helping to teach what Catholics believe, that you should accurately teach what Catholics believe, or make it -very- clear that it is you talking, and not representing the Catholic Church.

I am not insulting, nor do I ever intend to insult
Tweetymom is not being overly defensive. I think people forget you get more bees with honey. Your post is right on and I think charitable. I don’t think anyone really is trying to be insullting they just don’t phrase it as well as you have. Tweety has changed her religous affiliation. I don’t like that because she has been brow beaten.
This is the hard part I agree with those who have criticized her. I just think it might have been done better. No I don’t think it was rude or uncharitable. I tend to be blunt and blunt makes enemies not converts.:o

heh…trust me, my wife hates how blunt I am. We all have our roles for Christ. Being blunt is one of the roles I tend to play in my community in Atlanta. Unfortunately, you are right, it isn’t a good thing sometimes to make converts, and I have lost my fair share of “battles” due to me being overly blunt about things. 🙂

OOPs I thought you wer talking about my name. I have said at least a dozen times The rock was Peters faith in Jesus nothing more nothing less.

I hava accept the Bible and mu faith in Jesus. Sorry
But you didn’t answer the question. The question was not what was the rock but why did Jesus change Peter’s name?

Tweetymom,

Would you please explain how Christ gave Peter’s faith the keys to the kingdom of heaven and the authority to bind and loose on earth?

Well there is blunt and then there is aggressively blunt. I am afraid that tweetymom has been exposed to much to the latter.

Sir or madam which ever I didnot change my affiliation. I am a Catholic who does not agree with all that you do.

And all the honey in this world will not change who I am and my belief in Jesus.
And sir or madam I am more than pretty blunt and you have not made me anything but to glory in all your blessings you and others have bestowed upon me. So God Bless you as you go about whatever you think you are called to do. I will do the same in Christ’s love.

But you didn’t answer the question. The question was not what was the rock but why did Jesus change Peter’s name?
There have been thousands of post on this and I care not that much about writting them again. Look you are more than welcome to believe what you choose. My faith in Jesus is my rock not why or why not Peters name was changed. I wasn’t there and neither were you. So I am going to trust my faith on Jesus who is my rock. God Bless.

You no longer claim Catholic here. Did you not understand that? Now let me be blunt back. You use that “all your blessings you and others have bestowed upon me.” as an insult thereby doing the devils work. Why you have lashed out at me I do not know. I am sorry that you feel you cannot claim to be Catholic here. You have been mistreated but you are not an innocent as this post demonstrates.

What you mean is that you can’t justify Jesus is the Rock so you will close your eyes to the scriptures that don’t support your preconcieved belief.

Tweetymom-

Let me get this straight:
  1. You do not believe that artificial birth control is intrinsically evil.
  2. You do not believe that the Church is infallible.
  3. You do not believe that we can pray to saints who can hear our prayers.
  4. You do not believe that Peter is the rock upon which Jesus built the Church.
  5. You claim to be Catholic.
  6. You teach RCIA.
Am I correct in all of this? 🤷

Thank you once again for another judgmental Blessing. I understand that I removed itbecause I wanted to. Thank you also for calling me doing the devils work, much appreciated. I care not about being mistreated and I have never claimed any innocence. I think you love all this and God Bless you in whatever you think God wants you to do.

Correct and dear si I have stated that I do not teach anything but what the Catrholic Church wants taught.

Grace, you said in your post: E. Rite can marry. Latin can’t. And Paul passed along the Latin tradition of celibacy. But Peter was married and I thought he was the rock of the Latin?
There is no proof one way or the other that Peter’s wife was alive. That really has little to do with your question.

What you have states needs to be clarified. Married men may become priest but priest may not marry.

Not being married is merely a discipline that could be changed. I don’t recall when it came into effect but it was not always so. Today there are acceptions and the Latin rite does have married priest. By the way Peter, when Peter was Pope there was no such thing as rites that developed over time. Peter, as the Pope today, is the Pope for ALL the Church that is all the rites. It was this belief that was part of the schism.

Wow you teach nothing that the Catholic Church wants taught:eek:

Did you mean to say that you do teach only what the Catholic Church wants. At least I hope that is what you meant

I don’t agree with those who say you are not Catholic. You do not believe in Catholic thought but that does not mean your not Catholic.
No one following the Church can say Tweety is not a Catholic.

I’ll assume though since it was not always so that at least someone’s wife was alive before it was chnaged.

At first I agreed with you but then I reread your statement and I am not sure what you ARE saying.

Tweety is a Catholic but she does not hold to Catholic thought. I think your post illustrates exactly others concerns that she is misleading.

So glad you added the but:D to bad that my quote remains of the original posting:(

You do not mean thank you and the devil loves dishonesty. Remember what you posted about pointing fingures? That one is pointing at you. There is no blessing when you turn it into an insult. Oh and since you go by Bible only where is there such a thing as a “judmental Blessing” Nope you are just using it as an insult and insult are from the devil. In mho, when you claim a blessing in this way you are blessing them as you “claim” to be blessed.
