Assuming these people run, who would you vote for in 2012 for President of the US?

Let’s do this periodically as the year progresses and see how things change.

You didn’t list the President. Not everyone on this Forum is a rightist or a Republican. 😦 😦

The current, campaigning president is listed.

choice # 6 on the list.

For future polls, you may want to put the candidates in alphabetical order. Thanks!

No one, as in good conscience I cannot support any canidate nor what the political institutions stand for at this time. I however can offer my prayers though small they are that God will guide the rest of the nation.

a candidate that believes abortion is WRONG (all abortion! And this also means being for saving babies born alive during abortions if there is any way to save them with advanced medical care and not just leaving them to die!) and is a strong faithful Christian (preferably) and you can tell his/'her faith is strong by their mannerisms, their attitude and their speech.

This means** I won’t be voting Democrat**!

Is Obama pro-choice? If so why would a Catholic vote for him…

Am I correct that only Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, and Ron Paul
have officially declared to be running for the GOP nomination?

That doesn’t make any sense. You’re not doing anyone any good by not voting at all. If somebody is going to win, you may as well vote for the one who will likely do the least evil. Not voting is unacceptable.

Yes he is strongly pro-choice, which is why I was confused by this post:

Formally declared Republican candidates:
Herman Cain
Newt Gingrich
Gary E. Johnson
Fred Karger
Andy Martin
Jimmy McMillan
Ron Paul

Ron Paul. Wouldn’t even consider anyone else.
Code:
I am actually surprised that Ron Paul is getting so much support on a Catholic Forum given that he is in favor of letting the states decide whether Abortion should be legal:
Ron Paul believes that the ninth and tenth amendments to the U.S. Constitution do not grant the federal government any authority to legalize or ban abortion. Instead, it is up to the individual states to prohibit abortion.

What’s wrong with that? These kinds of things should be up to the state. If they were, there would probably be a lot of red states right now that would impose a ban on abortion. Roe v. Wade was the federal government overstepping it’s boundaries.

The major issue is how many are supporting Obama. I guess some people just want to have their religious freedoms further corroded.

Actually it is if it does against one’s conscience. I have found that keeping up with politics and that stuff does not bring peace in my life. And in the end if it detracts from peace and Union with God, then I wish to not take part in something like that. And I cannot vote for someone who does not support Moral Life and God’s laws. By the grace of God I will not endorse any form of evil, no matter how smaller or lesser it is.

The Church does not say you HAVE to vote or not to vote. It encourages one to do so. And as long as that is in place, then I choose not to vote.

I want a President who will fight Abortion at the federal level, not remain neutral and leave it up to the states. If you leave Abortion legal anywhere, then women could travel to states where it is allowed to kill their babies.
