Who would be happy if every parish had to have a TLM Mass

I think that you have missed my point. I have noticed that there have been people on both sides of this fence who have been rude and sarcastic.

I have noticed that there have been people on both sides of this fence who have presented good and valid reasons for why they prefer one form over the other.
My apologies for having missed your point as well - it sounded like you were scolding people for arguing their respective positions about the form of the mass, and the proposed requirement that every parish have a TLM. If you’re only scolding those who are rude, then have at it. I would however suggest that sarcasm is a legitimate tool of debate - like any other tool, it should only be unacceptable when it crosses into rudeness.

I think all sarcasm, unless directed at self, is rude. Not that I haven’t been guilty of using it. It is a very handy tool, used by all sorts of lawyers. Peace. 🙂

I hope so, though it’s been my experience that liberal Catholics can be quite rude when anyone speaks well of the Traditional Latin Mass. I really don’t think that it’s the Mass they are so afraid of, but the theology that goes with it:
  • Honoring the Blessed Virgin & the Saints & Fathers of the Church. Asking their intercession during Mass.
  • Actually allowing our priests to be PRIESTS, with no laity on the altar, no EEM’s, no blending of the clergy & the laity.
  • Altar BOYS, because serving Mass is the first step toward the priesthood.
  • The Mass as a Sacrifice instead of a “Communal meal”.
  • Piety, evidenced by head-coverings, kneeling for Communion & striking one’s breast during the Mea Culpa.
Ect., etc.

Two more things, do not diss a Mass that you know nothing about…study the TLM. & it’s theology. Attend a few & THEN you may say whatever you want.

The Novus Ordo Mass you attend today is NOT the Mass of Vatican II. I doubt those present at the council would even recognize the Mass of 2,008.
Perhaps before you call someone rude, you should look at your own previous comment about magic.

I really do disagree with using sarcasm when seriously debating with someone. It may be a matter of what one’s intent, however. I do know that many people enjoy a good round of heated debate and to be honest, for them it can be fun. I understand that.

Sarcasm by its very nature belittles the human soul. I try hard to see Christ in everyone I meet, online or in person. I would not want to be sarcastic to Christ.

I don’t like to use sarcasm and I certainly don’t like it when it is directed toward me. I take seriously my beliefs and I hope that I can return that respect to someone who may disagree with me.

If the T.L.M. does return to its former place in the Catholic Church, it won’t happen because of anger, bitterness and sarcasm. It will happen because it is the will of God.

It would be a shame that someone is turned away from the beauty of the T.L.M. because of something rude or sarcastic that was said.

I have to agree with you!. I would also add music. Gregorian chant in particular. How many parishes today give pride of place to Gregorian Chant in the NO Mass!.

What pope ever gave specific guidelines (including frequency etc) for ‘pride of place’?

Nothing like vague terminology to cause ongoing troubles.

Thanks for your support. I mentioned before that it is the theology of the Tridentine Mass that trouble today’s liberal Catholics. More later.🙂
That’s because they like the way the Protestants do things!. Clap your hands, priest facing people, lay participation, female altar servers, etc… As well as their “that’s what I feel theology”.

Ever heard of Vatican II?
How specific - can you come up with clear cut items or more vague terminology?

Plenty of things in museums and libraries have a ‘pride of place’ (as opposed to put in the basement).

It’s funny how I hear about all the liturgical abuses in the NO Mass on Catholic Answers Live and not a bit is done about it at all. Except for “Talk it over with your priest”. Well maybe he should know better!. Or is it that what the people want is more important than what the Magesterium wants.

So I take it you don’t like the classical musical traditions:highprayer: :crossrc: :byzsoc: of the Catholic Church. You prefer Protestant ones?. “Go tell it on the mountain” Ok everyone clap your hands!:clapping: :extrahappy: :dancing:

The Catholic Church is NOT PROTESTANT!!. Don’t bring their traditions in!.

Hope you are not planning on a career as a psychic.

Though it is said it helps when one has a clue…because this response does not relate to my question you quoted.

Of course! It’s all about what the people like and want, not what is pleasing to God.

countdown to mod intervention.

EM, you are about to chalk up another one… locking a thread that is.👍

Are you going to produce verifyable documentation on that?

Or any other locks that I am personally responsible for?
