That’s right he dislocated his shoulder and was even struck by lightning. Did he have a heart attack aswell

Yes, I quite liked it as a film, and Jesus was very much more as I’ve always expected Him to look than other productions.

But is there one that you imagine Jesus’s appearance as being when you pray you guys?

Correct me if I’m wrong but it’s possibly one of those Jesus and Mary relationships like they’re in love kind of thing going on??

i wouldn’t watch anything like that because it is blasphemous nonsense

in theory, a movie about Mary Magdela could be very faithful & inspiring

Anne Bancroft would get my vote as the best-ever screen Mary Magdalene.

Yes! The Greatest Story Ever Told – I’ve sat in adoration and thought of his face more than once. It’s not typical for me but it’s definitely happened.

I’ve been meaning to watch it but I can’t find it. Do you know where I can find it?

Caviezel’s not bad, but he always felt like a placeholder to me.

My favorite is Jim Caviezel in The Passion of the Christ.

Second favorite would be Diogo Morgado in The Bible Mini Series and Son of God.

I’ve thought about this for a couple days and come to the conclusion that I was pretty much unimpressed by every big-screen Jesus I’ve seen, including the ones in “Jesus of Nazareth”, “Passion of the Christ”, and “Jesus Christ Superstar”.

My favorite film portrayal of Jesus is the one in “Barabbas” starring Anthony Quinn in the title role, where you never see Jesus’ face, just see him after being condemned to death from a distance and then carrying his cross in the background while Barabbas is trying to get on with his life as a newly freed man. I find the Jesuses more powerful when their face and such is left to the viewer’s imagination.

🔼 This. Me too. And I think it’s the only film about the NT that has the agreement of the Vatican. They also listed the Gospels it was based upon. Robert Powell two votes.
I had heard, many years ago, that playing the part of Jesus had a deep impact on Powell. So tonight I did a bit of searching and found this:
“Before I began this film, I had no particular interest in religion and absolutely no opinion of Christ. Now I do believe in Christ and His divinity, though I do not necessarily go to church. Prior to being cast in the part, my knowledge of Christ was limited to Sunday school teachings and religious stories, all on a rather immature level. I knew this would never be enough for me as an actor to work with in developing a character. So I read the Bible through thoroughly, which I’d never done before, taking it apart and analyzing it. I also consulted works of reference and commentaries on the Bible because I wanted to obtain other people’s ideas as well. An actor has to be objective when interpreting a part. Nonetheless, after playing Christ for all these months, it would be difficult not to really believe in him…”
He also comments on how his brother was affected by the film:
“My brother is an atheist and he watched it with my parents and they said as the closing credits came up, after the crucifixion, he was very quiet and muttered, ‘Makes you think, doesn’t it.’ So if I can turn an atheist to thinking, I count him as my biggest achievement.”
I found these quotes on this website, but the links to the original interview were broken.

Jesus Christ Super Star!! I just started reading the Bible more thoroughly recently and was impressed on how the song Gethsemane is actually spot on #musicaljunkie

Yiftach Klein is an Israeli actor who would (still because he is already 46) be great in playing Jesus. I have this impression that he’d be great I don’t know why (no it’s not a romantic crush). But most likely he never will.
