Its out in the cinemas here (netherlands), check your local theatre!

For those who are afraid its one of those movies with a lot of far out ideas in which Jesus and Magdalene are a couple, its nothing like that.
Mary is portrayed as a simple woman from Galilee who cannot find her way in jewish society and chooses to follow Jesus. The film give a good insight in jewish life of the time and how it must have been for women to follow Jesus. More over, the way Galilee looks in this movie is spot on and I ve never seen a film in which the jewish temple in Jeruzalem looks so good

I saw the trailer for it here but Not the film it looks very good

I did say The Passion of the Christ earlier, but does anyone remember after St. Pope John Paul II watched he film he said: “It is as it was.”, in referring to the film? There was some controversy over his statement, but if a Saint can vouch for its authenticity and closeness to how it actually occurred, then it’s good enough for me. I also love the Gospel of John, and Jesus of Nazareth. When I was a youth my school did a Passion play in the church, and I don’t know how I got the part, but I played the roll of Pontius Pilate. I know the importance of the Passion Play, and still know I was an actor, but there are times when I think, oh boy, I actually crucified Jesus. Oh, and the boy who played Jesus was my best friend at the time, and he had previously dated my mother before she married my mother. My life is full of ironies.

Did anyone mention Miracle Maker Jesus. I like him. He’s pretty cool. Anyone who likes claymation must see it.

Probably Caviezel for me. Not only did he do great work, he knew that his acting career would suffer if he took on the role, but he did it anyway.

Caviezel in "Passion of the Christ for the best authentic languages spoken and no holds barred realism, but perhaps Cliff Curtis in “Risen” for possibly the most realistic physical representation.

I like The Miracle Maker , a British puppet production which I watched growing up.

The boy who was your best friend dated and married your mother?

I must have been sleepy when I wrote this and mucked up the grammar. I meant this: My mom dated this boy’s father several years before she met and married my dad. And the boy and I were in class together.

LOL. Ok.

The Gospel According to St. Matthew by Pier Paolo Pasolini, a Marxist, is one of the all time greats about the life of Christ, and based on the Book of Matthew ( thus the title) And for such a great film, unfortunately he also directed Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom, a totally different sort of film. One of the grossest films ever, which I haven’t see fyi.

Peter o Toole is pretty good in the greatest story ever told. John the Baptist is great in this movie…charleton Heston I think

I love Caviezel’s, but it’s hard to show for non-literate friends and family (I know that may sound picky, but yes, this is real. 🙂 ).

I also love “The Miracle Maker”, an animated film, with Ralph Feinnes voicing Jesus.
