St. Francis of Assisi, his humbling humility & ability to see God’s creation in all living things.

Brian, I’ll pray for your daughter and her little one,
God bless you and your family

Our blessed mother is underrated among males and her power exceeds all demons. She has made the difference at many points of my life and her veneration is an integral part of being a Catholic.

One of my favorite saints is St. Zita. She is the patron saint of lost keys/lost items. I turn to her a lot. Though she hasn’t located my sunglasses yet 😄

Not all saints, but…
  • St. Joan of Arc, for her courage and steadfastness during a time when women didn’t do men’s work, much less lead an army. She was my Confirmation saint.
  • St. Thomas the Apostle, who doubted the authenticity of Jesus’s resurrection until he places his fingers in the wounds. He helps me out when I have trouble trusting in God’s plan for me.
  • Blessed Stanley Rother, who was an American priest on mission in Guatemala as things started getting dangerous during the Guatemalan Civil War. He came back to the US briefly because his name was said to be on a “death list,” but later returned to Guatemala, stating that a shepherd does not leave his sheep. A few months later, gunmen entered his house and killed him. His body was returned to Oklahoma, but his heart was buried in Guatemala. He was not the smartest kid in seminary, but he persevered and even managed to learn the local Mayan language where he was. His humility was amazing.
  • Servant of God Walter Ciszek, SJ, who spent 15 years in solitary confinement and labor camps in the Soviet Union. His undying trust in God’s plan for him in every moment of his imprisonment is an incredible testament to the human spirit and his Catholic faith.

Sorry I messed it up. All kidding aside I never heard of St. Zita anything else about her you can tell me.

Saint Michael the Archangel: My Confirmation saint and that he wholeheartedly serves God and once he made that decision; he stuck with it.

Blessed Virgin Mary: She said yes to God and Jesus gave her to us as our mother. She teaches me humility, purity and a heart based contemplative spirituality.

Saint Mary Magdalene: Converted sinner and patron saint of those ridiculed for their piety.

Father Vincent Cappodanno: Not yet a saint; though I ask for his prayers. Received the Medal of Honor, posthumously; in Vietnam. He teaches me that love, even without carrying a weapon; is heroic.

:sunflower:Thank you for the additional information. Will look her up. I am always interested in Saints I never heard of, God Bless

He isn’t a Saint yet, but Fr. Emil Kapaun. He was an army chaplain during the Korean War who died in a prison camp there. His cause for canonization is ongoing. He was from Kansas as am I.

Father Kapaun sounds cool. I used to ask Saint Dymphna for her prayers a lot; I struggle with mental issues.

I hope Fr. Kapaun’s cause progresses. I pray for his cause but I’ll admit sometimes I forget his name so I prayed for “that priest to become a saint who said Mass on the hood of a Jeep, you know which one I mean Lord.”
I also pray for the causes of Bl. Jerzy Popieluszcko, whom my father liked when he was alive, and Venerable Fulton Sheen, and Servant of God Rhoda Wise. Rhoda was from Ohio, about an hour from where I grew up. It’s amazing that she had thousands of people visiting her home when she was alive and yet when I was growing up I never heard of her! The Church is not very kind to its saintly people sometimes.

I also saw the movie on EWTN and I agree with you, inquires should be made into his life. I hope that Rome does llok into this very special man’s life and his devotion to God and man. God Bless
