Why Archbishop Viganò is almost certainly telling the truth

It is kind of ironic that Pope Francis’s statement to reporters was effectively " I will leave it up to you", yet the documents a reporter needs are ulitimately under his control…

A group of laypeople from different parts of the world should be formed to look into Vigano’s claims.

I don’t want to speculate, but also do not have reason to doubt Archbishop Vigano either. I think it’s important to remember that the truthfulness of AV’s statements is also quite problematic for the Archbishop himself, because we now know based on his testimony that he knew about McCarrick, and though he remained silent when his public testimony could have helped protect seminarians and vulnerable young men, he waited until after Pope Francis had done something about McCarrick to come forward.

He does not offer any apologies or even a hint of repentance for his silence. Even if everything about Pope Francis is true, I don’t think AV or his associates should be celebrated.

That Monsignor Vigano knew where this info was,and that he knew he was involved ,was reason enough to open the umbrella before it started showering on his head.
More still if it turns into a criminal case.
What would explain that he dropped his Testimony, after the sanctions?
All this reminds me of the "law of the repentant"we have in our justice system…
Some of it maybe true, some may not. So far not a hint of evidence and he is missing in action…

I haven t asked a single person or priest here nor plan to find out.
