Trying to focus it Robert.
We increase the issue, people come to US from world-wide. Often until a generation has to past they just are not Americanized. I’ll give you great example a friend of mine from India caught his son smoking pot. He smacked him in the face told him he didn’t want him to see the black woman he was in a relationship with, and is looking for a wife from India for him.
Yes he has some pre-conceived thinking/feelings about America he will have to work through. Its not easy. But we get along so wondeful, and enjoy each others family company. No I don’t agree he makes his wife sit in the backseat and his son in front, and some different culture thinking. However through my wife and son and his wife who is catching on to America, he is looking at, with open-mind what we all are saying politely to him.
Islam in American is by large “NEW”. They are going to have to learn to adjust to the US not the other way around. Becuase a few young adults whom just started attending college and are wearing their heart on sleeve, and want to stick-up for what they do not understand? This doesn’t identify the “real” issues as I am, it encourages a reverse racism and for NO GOOD REASON exept “lack” of understanding. I’ve been here over a half century, I seen this with my mothers side of the family who migrated from Poland, neighbors, friend different ethnic and racial familys. Ive seen the ethnic issues from this one, who doesn’t speak to that one Italy/Poland, and Black/White, Spanish/Black and on and on and on. By large through a couple generations if not “one” the familys work through their issues by the children becoming Americanized.
This is how its always worked here. See you own predjudice which btw “everyone has” and learn to work past it, you will not only continue to be in the trap, you will encourgage others incorrectly. Martains I would “assume” are more comfortable with their own culture.
Now most of us in the US have sought to see the good in all people, I know I have and the proof of it is my children. They see no black/white, couldn’t tell what a polack or spick of anything else it and would look at you stupid if you said such a thing around them. I didn’t teach difference or indifference or hate, I taught respect. love and loyalty. love thy neighbor as yourself. Even if they are PURPLE.
We live Free here among each other, including those with social and physical limitations.
One Ethnic background such as Isalm is not coming in here and changing the US. YOU are changing, or we incourage to go to an Islamic Country where you will be content. No-one send invitations for you to come to the US, YOU chose to come here to live Free I would “assume”. If you don’t like us, you are just as free to leave as you were to come.
And yes the woman from NY-NY related “honestly” about her “feelings” above.
Let me show you an example… “Gary Taylor, you are being very uncharitable in your behavior and the tones of your posts. I suggest you check yourself.”
Its an incorrect observation by large about US/North America HATE and “me”. And then this becomes an incorrect observation “US is Racist or they Hate” If you want to know what someone “thinks or feels” ask them directly:shrug: Relate to YOUR feelings of prejudice always honestly. And what creates YOUR feelings, Then others will be more likely and honest to relate about theirs. Everyone is prejudice, its a FACT. If you can’t understand this, you haven’t tried or been on earth long enought to begin to see clearly. Some deeply, some very little, no-one is totaly free from this human nature sorry to inform you, its impossible.
Ambers coments are correct above also. Also I don’t judge Amber because of her beliefs. My wife was raised Catholic and was into Wicca for a decade. I didn’t ask her to convert. She did that on her own. Probly through watching me and reading the constant flow of mail/Church I receive from Catholism maybe had some affect. Not sure I don’t focus much on the “why”. Maybe with our children, I’m not sure and don’t dwell on this.
Same thing as I stated earlier, goes with Hindu and also with Buddists . I have no issue with them, yes, I get where they are coming from, I have a few very close frineds I learned a lot of spritual lessons from in their area about the “self” and completely working past it. There understanding quickly eliminated the area I was “stuck” at in Christianity, and that many are in the spiritual aspect. They knew something I did not know, It enhanced my life with the illusion of this reality with the wisdom of seeing is for what it really is. Not the point of “if” I buy into the Total Concept of their belief, they helped me with mine and I thanked them from a pure state of love:shrug:
I don’t believe in self-immolation, but I’ll tell you what. I’ve seen the effect those messages had on a generation. People were lost and caught in the “self” Buddists were not lost, and showed mankind by this insane act how to move past what man could not seem to do.
There’s deeper complexity to the Islam/US hate situation which I am trying to show from different perspectives. Just to go back to the Jews. If they want their own community and not wabt to mix blood lines. Who am I to judge them. I’m not their keeper. They are free to do this and in America. When you chose to live in peace and among others in peace than your feelings/thinking is repected here. Just as with the American Indians. Another very spiritual culture I learned so much from as a child in the woods, it proved to be of such worth later on in life.
But Hanging Signs on US Americans or North Americans just isn’t appreciated,
Thank You, Much Love, PEACE!!
PS…We can have a transending conversation, if you communicate your feelings/thinking.
