And for the last time “Atheism” is not just a rejection of a set of claims, it is also a philosophy based on materialism. Furthermore, even if you reject our claims about God what makes you think God doesn’t exist at all in any form (higher being)? You have the choice of being a deist, you know.
You obviously don’t understand the meaning of atheist.

Thanks for coming to CAF for this discussion, and for sharing the pain in your hearts.
God bless you,
Gabriella
This certainly has been a long thread, and is almost at an end- the moderators usually lock it at around 1000 posts, and this one is in the 990s- it’s lasted longer than I thought it would.

If this thread is coming to an end I will make just one last comment and then shut up (I promise!).

Christians would have more success in converting non-Christians if they practised more and preached less. Actions speak louder than words.

And that is indeed what every Christian should be doing, living out the Gospel. God bless.

p.s. Don’t worry about the post count, these threads can go up to and above 1100 posts.

This is true. As St Francis of Asissi said, “Preach the Gospel always, when necessary use words.”

Christians have many times failed to live up to their calling. In the early years of the 20th century, the London Times asked many distinguished people to write what they thought was wrong with the world. G.K Chesterton (a Christian writer and convert to Catholicism) wrote:

Dear Sirs:

I am.

Sincerely, G.K.

Thank you for your valuable (name removed by moderator)ut. I know that I could work on that some more myself.😊

One more comment I would like to add…atheists wouldn’t be so unhappy if they knew how much God loves them. Please give prayer a chance.:o Peace!

Remarkable. Thank you for sharing that, friend.

Oh, I believe that Josie is right on the mark with her understanding.😉

Yes, but CD doesn’t believe in the dictionary definition- he prefers to make his own.😃

“Become doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves with false reasoning. For if anyone is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, this one is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself, and off he goes and immediately forgets what sort of man he is. But he who peers into the perfect law that belongs to freedom and who persists in it, this man, because he has become, not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, will be happy in his doing it.” (James 1:22-25).

If a Catholic has the spirit then not one word or put down is necessary. People will feel it and become curious, but many Catholics are Catholic in tongue only so turn people off to the faith. The statement atheists are so unhappy is a put down. Catholics also are unhappy so we should be talking about that.
