Its hard. But you are right. I honestly just have to suck it up. Its just iv been holding it in for so long I finally had to rant about it somewhere ya know?

I wish i could delete my post and post yours. You took the words right out of my mouth. That is exactly what I was trying to explain. Is that they feel superior then others. Thank you for your answer

Hmmm… interesting to think about. Thank you. Now Im the one who is judging them…

I traveled alot and moved alot due to work. Iv been parish to parish and always felt welcomed. But this specific one made me mad. And Iv been holding it im for so long. I know I have to suck it up and be patient and not judge them and become them. But it gets so hard. Im planning to move in 2 years again. So hopefully it all works out

Im sorry. I realized where people think im attacking the whole texas. The only reason the title has texas in it is because it didnt let me post it without it cus it was already created. I did not mean the whole texas. I ment the town I am in, withing texas.

Thats how I feel about everyone around me cus they treat eachother this way. Because they treat eachother this way, Im getting mad and acting the same way to them. Its a cycle that I am aware of. I was trying to find out why they were this way in the first place

Greetings!

It’s because we have a lot of teenagers come onto the forum to ask one question or say that they feel they’re hard done by, when really we can’t help them and they should really talk to a priest and/or a family member.

It happens regularly. I myself have been that person before (just look at the topics I created in the first 6 months of being on the forum), so if you are young then you certainly aren’t the first to do that.

I’m sorry you’re having a bad experience, but Texas is HUGE!

Being judgemental is neither characteristic of Texans nor of Texan Catholics as a whole. I’m not saying they don’t exist, just that it sounds like you have landed in a tragically unrepresentative sample.

Not certain what part of texas you are from, but there could be various reasons why you are seeing what you are.

I live in the middle of the texas bible belt. Many protestant feelings seem to have transfered to some Catholics. Because you dont believe X you are less than.

Additionally folks are very cliqueish.

All you can really control is yourself. If people cause you to change the way you act or feel about yourself, remove yourself from them.
That is similar to some small towns in the bible belt in my Australian state. For whatever reason, perhaps a charismatic person creates an environment that becomes cultish and insular and can self perpetuate for generations.

Where I live in Texas everyone is being pretty nice to eachother and non-judgy right now. I’d liken it to the good will during Hurricane Harvey, but on a we can’t hang out together- terrible global pandemic scale.
