There are two separate groups here.
The first is one of economics and political power. These are the Muslims in the Middle East who are poor, poorly educated, and/or in oppressive governements. They respond in the only way that they understand: force. This group will riot, rape, kill, and destroy when things offend them. Sometimes, the will do it when they are happy, too. They are not too dangerous if you are not near them.
The second group is the more educated, more wealthy ethno-religi-politicalists. This group sees the Qur’an as encouraging the domination of the World by Muslims, and if that means the execution of all Christians, so be it. These are the ones who run Terrorist organizations. They have no issues killing Muslims who disagree. They are as dangerous as a two-headed Cobra or a leaking nuclear reactor.
Now, if we ignore the first group for a minute, can we say that the Qur’an can be interpreted to allow for the second one?
