I find that In Jesus had some posts that needed some answer. It seems necessary to find the root of all our beliefs. Who knows, one may just be fake!
Here’s my suggestion, do a Google search for “media bias study” and look at just a few of the hits. They will all tell you the same thing. Believe me, I don’t make accusations without evidence.Unless you can point to studies from Media critics and scholars that provide clear empirical evidence that the media is more left than right rather than speculation I’ll believe you.
You also have to understand that the media is multifaceted, Its not just TV, newspapers and magazines you also have to think of Movies, the internet and books as well. Some conservatives make it seem as if the left has a hegemony over the media and that all other voices are silient.
…
I have to be honest though I have not been paying attention to the news in the last few months because of school so things might have changed.
Sure. Like these teachings for example:I think you should look at the TEACHINGS of Islam. That’s really the only thing that matters to me.
…one must go on jihad (i.e., warlike razzias or raids) at least once a year…one may use a catapult against them [non-Muslims] when they are in a fortress, even if among them are women and children. One may set fire to them and/or drown them…If a person of the Ahl al-Kitab [People of The Book – Jews and Christians, typically] is enslaved, his marriage is [automatically] revoked…One may cut down their trees…One must destroy their useless books. Jihadists may take as booty whatever they decide…they may steal as much food as they need…
…the dhimmi is obliged not to mention Allah or His Apostle…Jews, Christians, and Majians must pay the jizya [poll tax on non-Muslims]…on offering up the jizya, the dhimmi must hang his head while the official takes hold of his beard and hits [the dhimmi] on the protruberant bone beneath his ear *… They are not permitted to ostentatiously display their wine or church bells…their houses may not be higher than the Muslim’s, no matter how low that is. The dhimmi may not ride an elegant horse or mule; he may ride a donkey only if the saddle-work] is of wood. He may not walk on the good part of the road. They [the dhimmis] have to wear [an identifying] patch [on their clothing], even women, and even in the [public] baths…[dhimmis] must hold their tongue…. (Al-Ghazali (d. 1111). Kitab al-Wagiz fi fiqh madhab al-imam al-Safi’i, Beirut, 1979, pp. 186, 190-91; 199-200; 202-203. [English translation by Dr. Michael Schub.])

Here we have an insight into the only peace that islam recognizes - besides death is the call to islam, or da’wa, and if one does not accept that then they are obliged to wage war - or accept subjugation (dhimmi status). Only three options for peace with muslims.
At its core, Islam is a religious mission to all humanity. Muslims are religiously obliged to disseminate the Islamic faith throughout the world. “We have sent you forth to all mankind” (Q. 34:28). If non-Muslims submit to conversion or subjugation, this call (da’wa) can be pursued peacefully. If they do not, Muslims are obliged to wage war against them. In Islam, peace requires that non-Muslims submit to the call of Islam, either by converting or by accepting the status of a religious minority (dhimmi) and paying the imposed poll tax, jizya. World peace, the final stage of the da’wa, is reached only with the conversion or submission of all mankind to Islam…Muslims believe that expansion through war is not aggression but a fulfillment of the Qur’anic command to spread Islam as a way to peace. The resort to force to disseminate Islam is not war (harb), a word that is used only to describe the use of force by non-Muslims. Islamic wars are not hurub (the plural of harb) but rather futuhat, acts of “opening” the world to Islam and expressing Islamic jihad. Relations between dar al-Islam, the home of peace, and dar al-harb, the world of unbelievers, nevertheless take place in a state of war, according to the Qur’an and to the authoritative commentaries of Islamic jurists. Unbelievers who stand in the way, creating obstacles for the da’wa, are blamed for this state of war, for the da’wa can be pursued peacefully if others submit to it. In other words, those who resist Islam cause wars and are responsible for them. Only when Muslim power is weak is “temporary truce” (hudna) allowed (Islamic jurists differ on the definition of “temporary”)There is also more about the violence against their own women in the article that I won’t discuss in this post.(Tibi, Bassam. “War and Peace in Islam,” in The Ethics of War and Peace: Religious and Secular Perspectives, edited by Terry Nardin, 1996, Princeton, N.J., pp. 129-131)
You are making an unsound link here. The victims of Sep 11, Madrid, London and Mumbai were killed by evil zealots in the name of their religion. The tragedy of children dying due to embargo’s was caused by their own government and the corruption of the Ba’ath Party and the U.N.non fo teh facts you quoted are any were near facts. The number of victims of violence of Sep 11 , the madrid biombing, the london bombing and the latest indian tragedy is a fraction of the children who died in iraq after american embargo in th 90s .
You are confusing the religion of people starting a war with people starting a war due to religion. WWI was started by old imperial rivalries and the desire for more acquisition of land and materiel. The wars Catholics and protestants massacred each other for 30 years in europran wars . nazism grew in the heartland of Christian europe. 60 Million human biengs died in world wars created by christians.
While these are tragic they were also done from anger as reprisals to what those had been done to the Israelis and Indians.as we speak now settlers in israel are continuing their attack on palestinians in wehich the israeli prime minister himself described as pogroms! and hindu mobs mass raped and burnt alive whole muslim villiage in gugarat.
I’m glad to hear it. What was all the calling the US the “Great Satan” and the targeted killings of innocent civilians because of nationality either American or just innocents when a Dane drew pictures of a man dead over 1300 years? In America we do not like people denigrating the image of Christ, who is God, but we do not riot over it or kill people like many Muslims do over pictures of a mere man, Mohamed.Yet muslims never generalised like you generalise, in fact it gives me great pride to see you write what you write because it is confirmed now that islam has the moral high ground as more sensible non judging faith that is able to direct its criticism to the peiople who deserve it.
Then if the TEACHINGS of Islam are peaceful then I would fully expect you to be charging for the destruction of the Wahabbis and others who are doing all the violence,I think you should look at the TEACHINGS of Islam. That’s really the only thing that matters to me.
That’s goodHi
No discrepect is intended to the present day Jewish people, if they are peaceful.
I love Jesus and Mary as I do love Buddha and Krishna
Thanks

HiThen if the TEACHINGS of Islam are peaceful then I would fully expect you to be charging for the destruction of the Wahabbis and others who are doing all the violence,
Yeah, I think people really should learn what these verses mean.Sure. Like these teachings for example:
9:29 “Fight against those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”
47:4 “When ye meet the unbelievers, smite at their necks”
4:74 “To him who fighteth in the cause of Allah soon shall we give him a reward of great value.”
And from the Hadith:
Allah 's Apostle said, " I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,’ and whoever says, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,’ his life and property will be saved by me except for Islamic law, and his accounts will be with Allah, (either to punish him or to forgive him.)"
Islam is a religion of violence NOT peace.
On that note, can you give ONE example of when christians started a riot that caused fatalities over a newspaper cartoon?its very concvenient of you o mention the ‘‘riot’’ of muslims because if it was orther people than muslioms it would becalled demonstrations!!! ofcourse there were both of them demonstrations in the majority and some times riots . But for muslims we always call them riots!! all of them . makes us sleep better!!!
silence is acceptanceThe gravest mistake that human kind has committed against human kind is misinterpretation of any holy book.
It is not only muslims that have been violent, do some research and you will find that Catholics and Protestants use to fight against each other as well for the same reason of Islam. They were both saying that their religion was the only true religion.
If you examine scripture will you learn discernment in Galatians 5:22 The fruits of the spirit. 22 But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, humility and self control. Anyone who acts differently than the fruits of the spirit, is truly not from GOD. How can they be, their behavior is not pleasing to GOD at all.
Not all Muslims are violent, just as all Catholics or Protestants are not violent,it’s only the unbalanced extremists.
The answer to your question “will they ever change”, would be “only if they return to GOD”.
Shai22
Thank GOD for all bad things that happen in your life, for its because of the bad things that we learn to endure and become humble.
meedo forgets all the muslims caught on video around this world - and even in our own lands - dancing and celebrating the deaths of 9/11.On that note, can you give ONE example of when christians started a riot that caused fatalities over a newspaper cartoon?
I actually wondered why the Israelis didn’t stop the flow of water sooner. Let me see - they lob bombs at schools, and blow up buses, and other places where children go and they are supported by israeli’s flow of water?R_not, it is not my intention to turn this thread into a debate on Israel/Palestine. I only brought this up since Meedo had raised an objection concerning it, and seems to be under the erroneous belief that Americans are precluded from forming their own opinions by baised media coverage on Middle Eastern issues, which makes us out to be idiots for the sake of being able to complain more about us. Obviously, I disagree with that.
As to whether or not Israel violates human rights, I will invite you to do your own research into Israeli water rationing in Palestine, and then determine for yourself if the inequity you will find constitutes a violation of human rights. I think it does, but you may feel differently. That’s up to you. I harbor no ill-will against you, but this is the only post you’ll see from me directly addressing you or your claims about Israel. I prefer to calmly disagree than to get drawn into protracted arguments, especially since I think we both mean well, just have different motivations and ideas (I think I said this last time we got into an argument, too? Well, at any rate, I still believe it.)
Peace.
