I suspect it is a way to antagonize NonCatholics who may be here.

The site is called “Catholic Answers” so I guess topics tend to gravitate to Catholic-oriented discussions.

But, you know, all you have to do is start a new thread on something non-Catholic and see who bites. The ball is in your court…

Funny though, just yesterday I was wondering why so many Muslim threads…🤷

Hello!

Note that the forum title is Non-Catholic Religions and NOT Non-Catholics. It is a forum for discussion about Non-Catholic Religions. The forum could exist with or without the presence of non-Catholics. You must expect that at a website called ‘Catholic Answers’ that you will get answers based up the deposit of the Catholic faith.

As mentioned, if you feel that you are threatened or treated poorly, please do report it to the moderators.

Peace be with you and God bless! 🙂

Correct. Many people come into this forum believing that the “Non-Catholic Religions” forum is reserved for the use of non-Catholics to talk about whatever they want without the “interference” of Catholics.

As if!

Question: Why are purely Catholic topics on this forum.

Answer: Because its their best opportunity in this board to convert us non-catholics.

To be honest, I have to agree with you. At times it seems like it is around just to tell Protestants how wrong they are. Now, I know there are Prot. who come here just to fight, but everytime I try to make a point, only for the sake of dialouge, I get told how I do not know anything about my faith. That hurts, especially when you came here just seeking ecumenical conversation.

Well, let me see…you came to this forum from the main page of Catholic.com, so I would imagine that would be the first clue to the fact that you are on a Catholic forum;)

I am sure the moderators will move topics to more appropriate places if they deem it necessary.

Why does it bother you? Why are you antagonized by it?

I find it annoying since these off topic threads adds clutter to this already cluttered department. There are already too many Non-Catholic religions to discuss.

On the bright side, it can be quite fun sometimes when non-catholics are baited.

Which particular threads in this forum do you find especially antagonistic?

^ who, me? im not really antagonized. just a little bit annoyed.

but like i said, mixing purely catholic stuff in here can be quite fun sometimes.

My thought was that it was a forum to talk about Non-Catholic religions or issues of Catholicism which would relate to Non-Catholic issues.
Dont know why I thought that?

There are a dozen forums on this site that Catholics can discuss their faith. There is one where people of other faiths use to discuss both their faith and Catholic faith.
Why must Catholics use this forum to discuss their issues?

“Why must Catholics use this forum to discuss their issues?”

What issues do you mean? Can you give some examples?

The problem is that forums like this with astronomical amounts of activity means that lots of forums are going to be added to handle it all. But the divisions are only general and not laden with strict rules. Things only get moved when they are way off the forum’s description. So there is no need to play pin-the-tail on the Catholic’s ulterior motives.
