Julia Mae,
Thank you for that wonderful testimony at Christmas.
The thing that struck me in your testimony was this:
At any rate, I was at my first Adoration…I never had any religious experiences or anything, I wasn’t a churchgoer before my conversion, was a complete spiritual novice, so you can imagine first time Adoration is pretty - well - overwhelming.

So I’m on the floor, on my knees, not really aware of the other folks, it seems very bright and I’m not praying, just filled with this great upliftingness (Sorry, no words. I imagine you know what I mean) and I wasn’t thinking, you see, it was like I could just have stayed in that position in joy forever.
It strikes me so much like what we read in the stories of the saints…Personally I’ve never really felt that…I’m afraid I “think” too much…so in a sense I envy you…😉

Anyway - I sometimes think that part of the problem with “healings” is precisely this…We think to much, ask too many questions…in short we fail to receive faith like a child…All of this interferes with the “flow of energy” so to speak…

Thanks again.

Peace
James

Well, as I have said previously, I’m not going into gory medical details, somethings are just personal. I had an internal defect that I was to have repaired surgically. This was something that had occasioned a previous emergency room visit, so there were tests and so forth.

At any rate, I was at my first Adoration. In fact, I had not yet actually been received into the Church because it was Maundy Thursday. (Medical issues had to wait until after Easter.) I never had any religious experiences or anything, I wasn’t a churchgoer before my conversion, was a complete spiritual novice, so you can imagine first time Adoration is pretty - well - overwhelming.

But then something did get my attention. Inside my body, in a specific place where I could feel this defect ordinarily, there was what I can only describe as p(name removed by moderator)oints of warm energy, like as if every little droplet of some fog was a spark, sort of. It was not a wave that came in and out, it was just in there and seemed to expand for a couple seconds in this area and then be gone.

So, skipping over reactions and whatever, it was gone, no surgery needed. Obviously I’m not putting “proof” in this thread if anyone is looking for that, but if people want pictures and xrays and all of that, read Rita Klaus’ book on her healing which has plenty of those. (The basic story is here bolstablog.wordpress.com/2008/11/10/rita-klaus/ ) Her healing was so medically astounding when she walked up to her doctor having been completely cured in 24 hours, he didn’t believe it was her. He thought she had a twin sister visiting and they were playing a trick. Understandable as her kneecap had been surgically severed from her leg and it’s impossible to stand or walk or climb stairs or jump up and down, without one, along with the fact that her legs were completely twisted around and useless, the bones deformed. I believe she jumped up and down a lot at first! That was all made normal in a day.

You can also read Blest Atheist, which I think has the story of Elizabeth Mahlou’s healing, she had before and after xrays.

Anyway, that was my deal.
Wow, that’s both amazing and wonderful. I’m very happy for you that you were healed and happy also that you were able to have such an awesome experience.

Thanks, Faith. But in terms of the thread question, I have to say, these things were so common in the Parish I was in that I didn’t, at that time, think anything too unusual happened. That it would happen to me was really surprising, but there were a lot of people I knew with these kinds of experiences.

I was very naive, or ignorant, really. I thought the whole Church would be like my Parish and what I knew of my Archdiocese. Then I moved to another part of the country and it was like being in a completely different Church. So I guess these healings must not be so common everywhere.

my father was also healed from a very aggresive cancer that even after surgery, the prognosis was not good at all. Scientifically there is no explanation how he has survived and with no cancer activity at all for 4 years after the postoperatory biopsy was positive. He is well like he had never had an aggressive cancer in his life. Miracles do happen. Sometimes in the most unexpected way and with not completed faith at all. I can only say: Praise be to God, He is all ever present now and always. I must give testimony of what i have seen with my own eyes of the mercy of our Father. Even me, as a doctor, i can not give a medical explanation for what what happened, only a miracle has cured him.
As the Lord says: bring your burdens to me and rest. I have seen the ways of the Lord, not my own ways.👍

Fantastic witnessing!

…it is sad that more and more people equate intelligence with rejection of God… recognizing our limitations should be the first edict of the creed of intelligentsia–acknowledging that things do occur beyond our capacity to understand/quantify through science should be the second!

Thanks again for having the strength and valor to acknowledge a powerful Divine intervension!

The gospels tells how Jesus healed many people who were paralized, sick, blind etc and even gave the power to the 12 disciples to teach and heal the people. I wonder with the church having healing masses and the congration praying over sick people, why is nobody healed like in NT times? Then you also have tv avangelists lke benny hinn who on tv “supposedly” heals many people and your miracle water cure which i think those are scams for money.
Short version: Thirty seven yrs ago, my parents were told I wasn’t going to make it. (At one point) I was clinically dead. Mom didn’t give up. She prayed, our priest annointed me, here I am today. Thanks be to Jesus who 2000 yrs later still heals.

rom422 its just like I told a Jewish friend when a person in south GA died from a snake bite while handling snakes during their service (Pentacostal branch?) he didn’t have enough faith!

…wow… this is very similar to one story that I know of a baby that was dead only a few short days after having been born… he was rushed to the Priest who Baptized him and the babe resucitated after hours of heart and lung failure!

Thank God for not needing the status quo in order to perform miracles! 😛
