If there is salvation outside of the Church, why be Catholic?
Maybe my knowledge of my own Catholic faith is in error but a few points just don’t add up. I have heard the argument that the “Church” is all that are baptized and such other things. But that still doesn’t add up to the statements below.

- If I do not go to Mass on Sunday I am in a state of Mortal Sin.
- If I die prior to confession I believe that I will go to hell.
- I do not know of any people “outside” the Church that go to Mass on Sunday. Aren’t they in a state of Mortal Sin?
- I do not know of any people “outside” the Church that go to confession. Aren’t they then going to hell for having the Mortal Sin on their soul?
- I have heard the argument that the Church is the “fullness” of Christianity. But if you don’t need the “fullness” to get salvation then what do you need?
- Why do I have to go to Mass on Sunday?
- Why can’t I just say a prayer and my sins will be forgiven?
