He does! A better question might be why don’t we hear him, or why don’t we listen to him?Why cant God just communicate with us directly?

see the post above yours. What makes you think he doesn’t?
if everybody else hears the same message, for sure its god and i’m not just going insane. How would you know it was Him and not someone or something else?
God communicated directly with the Israelites when they left Egypt (even physically being present as a pillar of cloud/fire). They still disobeyed.thats why we should hear from god directly, not from some messenger. AND ESPECIALLY NOT FROM A MESSENGER’S MESSENGER’S MESSENGER’S MESSENGER!
look, is there a bible story wherein god called to someone and that someone said “who’s this again? I DONT BELIEVE IT!”.![]()
Conversely, why aren’t you able to develop the faith and trust that millions upon millions of other Christians have? What makes you so special that you must stand out from all the rest? Why cant God just communicate with us directly?
What if he came incarnate and established a Church through whom he could speak that would teach as he taught, and gives us a share in his glory?!he should do it again so that the modern world can hear him.
He does. The question is, are we listening? Why cant God just communicate with us directly?
So - because there is confusion and outright rejection, you believe that it is because God does not communicate with us directly?see the post above yours.
How do you know that everyone has not received the same message and that some have simply a) ignored it or b) misunderstood it c) rejected it?if everybody else hears the same message, for sure its god and i’m not just going insane.
they made the golden calf because they thought moses died up in the mountains and no longer has a means to find out who god is and what he wants. even aaron went with it.God communicated directly with the Israelites when they left Egypt (even physically being present as a pillar of cloud/fire). They still disobeyed.
The golden calf was just one of a number of disobedient thoughts and acts - Most of which occurred while Moses was right there with them.they made the golden calf because they thought moses died up in the mountains and no longer has a means to find out who god is and what he wants. even aaron went with it.
of course! who told muslim to follow islam? was it god directly, or their culture? who told you to be catholic? who told protestants to reject catholicism? So - because there is confusion and outright rejection, you believe that it is because God does not communicate with us directly?
thats really not my problem. How do you know that everyone has not received the same message and that some have simply a) ignored it or b) misunderstood it c) rejected it?
can you name a couple of examples? The golden calf was just one of a number of disobedient thoughts and acts - Most of which occurred while Moses was right there with them.
Conversely, even IF everyone hears the same thing how do you know that it is God and not mass delusion/hysteria? A heck of a lot of people heard Orson Welles broadcast of War of the Worlds and thought Martians really were invading earth, accordingly becoming hysterical. So - because there is confusion and outright rejection, you believe that it is because God does not communicate with us directly?

Maybe the point is to just be good to people, & not to stand around waiting for a voice to tell you what to do next.of course! who told muslim to follow islam? was it god directly, or their culture? who told you to be catholic? who told protestants to reject catholicism?
each to his own because of the absense of a direct guidance.
…
Ah, the question I’ve asked since I was a kid. One of my top questions for God when I die for sure. Maybe there’s some theology that explains why, which we don’t know about? Why cant God just communicate with us directly?
Sure. Look at Luke 1:11-20, paying particular attention to verse 18.Gorgias:![]()
verse please. thank you.Yep – the story of Gabriel’s visit to Zechariah in Luke chapter 1…!
Zechariah’s response to Gabriel was “how shall I know this?” In other words, he was telling Gabriel, “I don’t believe what you’re telling me – prove it to me!”.
You know the result of this, don’t you? He was struck mute for nine months…
If Jesus Christ becomes your shepherd you will hear his voice, for he says, “My sheep hear my voice”. How?he should do it again so that the modern world can hear him.
That disbelief only lasted for a second.Sure. Look at Luke 1:11-20, paying particular attention to verse 18.
The next time that happens and the world records it as an actual event, i’ll be a catholic. But hey, as Catholics, we have Marian apparitions…Guadalupe, Lourdes, Fatima…
mass delusion is one way.Conversely, even IF everyone hears the same thing how do you know that it is God and not mass delusion/hysteria? A heck of a lot of people heard Orson Welles broadcast of War of the Worlds and thought Martians really were invading earth, accordingly becoming hysterical.
you saying the prophets, the apostles and mama mary all went insane? In somewhat the same way, God communicates with us carefully and deliberately, in a way that will not blow our minds.
