Okay, so I feel pretty comfortable on defending Catholicism from atheists and Protestants. However, I feel that I am lacking when defending Christianity compared to things like Islam, Hinduism, and Judaism. Does anyone have any good points and advice when making an argument for Christianity in general. If there are also any good videos, writings, or Christian apologists you could reference me to, that would be great as well.
Thanks and God Bless.

Catholic theology has a complete explanation of God and religion.
What other Christian church can match the “Universal Catechism of the Catholic Church”? Other Christian churches can’t even agree among themselves what is the truth.

As for other religions, don’t expect unanimity among them either. Each religion, Musllim, Jews, Hindus, have many branches.

The true Church should be expected to be united, and the Catholic Church definitely is.

Hi, some apologists who have a tremendous impact of Christianity include:

C.S. Lewis
William Craig Lane
Lee Strobel
Ravi Zacharias

Also, ancients such as Augustine and Aquinas.

There are many more but those are the best I can think of off the top of my head.

Well, we can take a cursory look at some of the major religions:

Judaism - Christianity is the continuation of Judaism under the new covenant. They are still waiting for the Messiah.

The prestigious Buddhist magazine has this to say about Buddhism: “It is etiologically incorrect to refer to Buddhism as a religion.” Well, that rules that out, as a religion I mean.

Islam - Muhammad claimed only to be a mortal messenger of God; he also pointed out that he was in fact inferior to Jesus since Jesus could do what Muhammad openly stated, could not: Koran - Table V110 speaks of Jesus healing the blind, the lepers and raising the dead.

Zoroastrianism - kind of difficult to follow this religion since it can be located in only a few places on the planet.

Confucius, Chinese philosopher, 551-479 B.C. He did not found a religion. When asked about life after death, he said: “How can we know about death, when we do not even know about life?”

Christianity- Jesus boldly claimed what no other religion leader dares to do: He claims to be God and the Savior of the entire human race. He performed miracles defied death and fulfilled OT prophecies. Jesus said that His church would began in Jerusalem, then into Judea and Sumeria and eventually to the ends of the earth, and that is exactly what we see today. Another prophecy fulfilled.

Of course I respect all religions, but feel strongly that Jesus is the way the truth and the life for people of all religions. After all Jesus wants every person regardless of religion, to realize what He did for them.

Many folks from different religions were simply raised by their parents to believe what they believe and are never really given the opportunity to be exposed to Christianity and the CCC has this to say about those wonderful, no doubt God-fearing people:

CCC - Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation.337

These postings by Glenn Miller begin (the series is as yet unfinished) to take up this question:

Augustine.

Get Maria Boulding’s translation of Confessions and give it a read, I think you’ll find what you’re looking for 🙂

For Christianity in general, I particularly like the Wisdom found in the statement and act of “Embracing the Cross.”

Here is the personal Wisdom I have come to understand from the teachings:
I passionately want everyone to be able to experience unlimited happiness without anyone ever losing peace.
Given:
-there will be struggles and mistakes made in living a part in society
-there will even be instances of some people being unjustly mean
-By definition, a kind act is an act which gives pleasure/happiness.
-By definition, patience is bearing struggles calmly/free from disturbance/peacefully.
-1 Corinthians 13:4 &13 is the first declaration of “Patience and Kindness being Greatest.”
-“Love your enemies” can be paraphrased as: Be patient and kind to those who are impatient and mean."
Wisdom Gained from “Embracing the Cross”:
The only way to “Heaven”(my passionate desire) is to Want/Embrace being perfectly patient for peace and kind for happiness, especially in the face of unjust meanness(the Cross).
In Conclusion:
Since based on my passionate desire and that no brilliantly smart philosophers could offer or demonstrate equally wise teachings, “Embracing the Cross” is too incredible of Wisdom to not be from God!

Thank you very much for the great question! I look forward to further discussion!
