I looked at the beginning of Sirach and was so far liking it, the wisdom was there and I saw a beauty and I though that how could it be rejected by Luther? why though? why?

Some of the Jews excluded Sirach from the Jewish canon. Yet, St. John Chrysostom used it (eleven references in his homilies). Luther’s preface to Sirach, 1533: “Yet the ancient fathers did not include this one among the books of sacred Scripture, but simply regarded it as the fine work of a wise man. To say that that what Luther rejected the apocrypha is a little too strong, I think. He said that they were not equal to the Books in his canon, but they still contained much wisdom, and so created a new category of books and relegated them to an appendix.
He also tried to remove the books of Hebrews, James, Jude, and Revelation, but he received negative feedback from his followers, so he put them back in, but left them for last in the canon.
He justified the removal of the books of the Old Testament because the Great Assembly of Jewish scribes and rabbis finally solidified the Jewish canon in 70AD after the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. They only considered books which they could locate copies which were written in Hebrew. With the destruction of the Temple and its libraries earlier that year, many of the books left out of the canon were only available in Greek through the Septuagint as they were more popular with the Diaspora who primarily spoke Greek. What copies there were in Hebrew were theorized to be lost in the destruction of the Temple.
Luther ignored the fact that prior to the Jews deciding their canon, the Christians were already using the books he took out in their faith.

Luther tries to remove/downplay emphasis on books that contradicted his doctrine. He basically viewed himself as the only person who could translate/interpret scripture and decide what doctrine was.

So the bible is the only authority we need forget the clergy… wait I know let’s rewrite it so we can be the authority.

OP, these days at least in Catholic tradition it is preferable to call them the Deuterocanonicals cause there are other works considered Apocrypha and or Gnostic.
