Why didn't Christ just appear to Paul?

Interesting to note that Peter and Paul despised each other
Hmm… are you certain?
Galatians 1:
after three years* I went up to Jerusalem to confer with Cephas and remained with him for fifteen days
So… having been given his commission from Jesus himself, and pondering for three years, and then desiring to begin his apostolate… he goes to visit Peter. To ‘confer’. And does so for a whole two weeks.

Yeah… that sounds like ‘despising’ to me… 🤔

We don’t need to sit around arguing over who was the most influential apostle. Jesus himself taught against that when the apostles themselves were arguing about who was first among them. I’m sure if St Paul had been there, Jesus would have said the same things to him. They each were chosen for their unique gifts and for particular tasks and missions. It’s somehow fitting that the one who seems to have the smallest part in the Gospel (St Jude) probably now gets more prayers than all the others put together.

Saint Paul, as Saul of Tarsus, was in a position of great authority. He hated the fledgling Church and there was the genuine possibilty that he could have crippled it almost irreparably. Our Lord had chosen a zealot before: Simon Zelotes. Only our Lord could redirect such zeal from opposition or destruction to the positive edifcation of the Church.

As Lloyd Dobbins closed each show: “And, so it goes…”
