Why do Baptists hate Catholics?

My point about Newton was not that people knew that things fall down. The point was simply that because Newton defined gravity and explained it…he did not cause it to be a reality.
If reading a Bible is all one needs I ask you to explain how 2 people can read the scripture and come to 2 different understandings. Please, this is such a basic observation of human nature. You are going to have to explain this but the truth is you can’t and that is the rub. This is why the non Catholic sects are in schism constantly and it is why the Catholic Church has the Magesterium…and thank G-d for it.
the truth is you judge my ability to explain before I attempt so… this is true with those who reject other churches… you assume they are wrong and you are right because a church has believed it since the 5th or 6th century…

Now first of all the reason why the church is not schematic in the Catholic is that if someone does not accept all the truths that are infallible that the Catholic church believes… then they cannot truly be a Catholic…

While on the other hand there are many churches that have people who disagree on a lot of things but agree on a common thing and build the church on what they agree on… not what the church deems as the right interpretation.

We have all the Holy Ghost gifts in our church… yet the “true church” would say it is not so…

If a church preaches the same message as the first church… its gonna more likely be the first church

I could not agree with you more… that people here do that and it is a terrible shame… I thought we were Christians?? (I find myself asking…).

Even so… One reason Catholics (well-catechized ones, i should say) “slam” others (get excited about differences 🙂 ) is that we Catholics KNOW that others are in error…& to one degree or another: lost… and it disturbs us… , OK, maybe i can only speak for myself & a few others…
but it isn’t all about slamming… As someone recently reminded me, we must see good in others… Sometimes a person’s motive really is good, not evil…

Myself, i know how much the Church has done for me and it grieves me to see so mnay others missing out… I went to this restaurant the other day… alone… had a cup of coffee… I looked around and many people there, even those who seemed to be part of a big family or group… well, they looked kind of blah… even kinda “dead”… I live in an area where Catholics are rare… so i assumed most of them weren’t Catholic . I used to feel the way a lot of them looked… and my life now is not exactly a walk in the park 24/7 but in any case, my point is that my life now has so much more meaning… (Jesus said “I came to give life…”)… I am “learning Jesus” in the Catholic Church as i never knew Him before… 🙂 I genuinely feel sorry for people who do not know Jesus as i do… It bothers me when i see so many who THINK that they DO know him as i do!! When i see them close their minds & hearts to what the Church has to offer…

So what looks like slamming isn’t always slamming…
I feel the same way for those who are not in the Apostolic Pentecostal church…

such an experience with God is for all and I wish all would receive it… how wonderful it is

uh, yeah…

Technically, the person IS rejecting Christ when he rejects the Church…

But the Church does not teach that that person goes to Hell for it (necessarily)…

If he doesn’t believe the Church is the true Church Christ established, he is not held accountable for his ignorance… However, if he even suspects in any way that it is… he could be in trouble…
His ignorance must really play down when he is shocked at the over 400 Scripture lines claiming the church is the foundation and pillar of truth. Boy are these “bible alone” people in trouble when they actually READ their bibles. 🤷

I read my Bible and it tells me Peter is the rock and his message was the keys to the kingdom… so I preach his message…

not to ask Mary to pray for me… or to pay indulgences for my loved ones… or to chant 10 Hail Marys…

These are all sub par to the message Peter preached…

Repent! and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive gift of the Holy Ghost

Thats what he said to do to the people who knew they crucified Christ with their own hands…

Thats what we need to do today… abiding in the apostles’ teaching… of one faith one lord and one baptism

I don’t use the term,“they” are wrong and “I” am right. This is the kind of thinking that leads to the many many sects (I won’t use numbers because the non Catholic denom members go nuts when you do) all claiming to have interpreted the Bible correctly. The articles of Catholic faith are in writting for all to see and accept or reject. Does your denom have a Catechism or can one just read some Bible verses and make up your own ideas about what they say? Martin Luther said" I did not want a pope and now I have a hundred". I follow the Church that Christ founded because I believe this is where the truth is found. I don’t use the term infallible as it is commonly used by non Catholics in the same sentence with truth. The truth is not relative to anything and the use of the word is usually just to confuse.
God is not the author of confusion my friend and I’ll leave you with that repectfully.

The vast majority of Protestants are devoted followers of Jesus Christ, yet for one reason or another do not approve of the Catholic Church. .
Frankly, i have not found this to be so true… I know of “Protestants” who claim to be Christian but never go to church, never even speak of Jesus (until i come around or some other thing happens…)…

Hmm… Wait, what am i talking about…? Not even then… I kno this one guy who only speaks of God… never, ever wants to use the name of Jesus… One time He told me in so many words that i talk about Jesus too much… that i should use the name God, not Jesus… Needless to say, I had nothing but problems with this guy for a long time, then decided he just wasn’t living the way i thought people should live ( Christians) and broke off the friendship… (he was abusive, etc…)…

I am sorry but the “vast majority of Protestants” I know… well, for one thing, i don’t even know any anymore because i just kept haivng problems with them… they live by a different set of rules (non-rules) than Catholics… i am sure there are good ones out there, but i just haven’t been running into them (have to admit i haven’t been trying, so partly my own fault…)…

I am sorry if my experience and attitude offends… but i am just telling it as i see it…

I have heard a lot of stupid statements by stupid people but yours almost takes the cake.
No, actually, i think yours does… not only stupid but crude, presumptous and …

closed-minded…

and - if you are Catholic -

I rest my case!!

Yeah, its really ironic because they think they know the Bible better than we Catholics…

You probably know that if a person goes to daily/Sun Mass for 3 yrs, he/she hears the entire Bible (minus the so-and-so begat so- and-so stuff…😃 )

One of my best friends is Baptist and one of her brothers is a Baptist Minister, we have all always gotten along very well. We respect one another’s faith and just talk about other things when we are together. Years ago, we (both sides) tried converting one another and finally just deceided to pray for one another’s families and leave it at that. I have never felt hated by them or ever expressed any hate for them. I believe we all love each other dearly and even though I pray for their conversion still, I know that they love Jesus and it shows in the way they treat their “neighbor”.

So nice to hear a success story… But i had (have?) a friend who is Baptist and, wel, we get along OK but when i say anything at all that is related to religion she changes the subject… immediately… I got the message that she didn’t wnat to hear it… so i just… well, frankly, i don’t spend a lot of time wiht her… don’t feel too comfortable… because my “religion” is everything to me…

anyway, baptists are like anyone else - there are those who are open-minded and those who are not…

Exactly and confusion is not necessarily in denominations… its in saying something is truth but the Bible does not affirm such as to be absolute truth…

That is confusion.

IF the catholic church had no catechism… there were be many sects…

However those that disagree leave and join other movements…

The fastest growing christian faith in the world is Pentecost and there is a reason for it…

Religion and its jargon do not take presidence over a relationship with Jesus Christ…

Its not about the church they belong it… but the body of Christ they belong to.

Hence confusion goes out the door when you have the same relationship as the original church experienced and the same apostolic salvation message… acts 2:38.

Then there is no more confusion… You and Peter walk the same road at that point.

One important fact to consider… Catholic church has always had dissenters ever since they began. However they were persecuted and killed time and time again. Its a shame to think the Protestant reformation was the first… actually it was the first major successful dissent… but certainly not the only.

It took hundreds of years for the complete catholic catechism to be wrote… all heresies had to be labeled and exposed…

What if some of those heresies are truths? Would be a shame.

Meet some holy ghost filled christians… usually they are devote and the name of Jesus is the main thing to call on 🙂

You don’t have a case to rest…if you had a case for the first and second statement please MAKE your case and don’t presume that your case is so overwhelmingly apparent and your thoughts so brilliant and profound that they don’t need to be articulated.
  1. Everyone hates Catholics
  2. Even Catholics hate Catholics
  3. Anyone who challenges these brilliant statements is stupid, crude, presumptuous and close-minded.
I’m waiting…

“You will be hated by all because of Me.” - Jesus

All…
This is in the same category as the standard protestant position that Mary was not without sin because the Bible says “all have sinned”. All means in both cases “a lot” and if it doesn’t mean “a lot” then the mentally deficient, small children and Mary, the Mother of G-D were ALL sinners. You emphasize the word ALL…did the early Christians ALL hate each other. 🤷

So you believe everything Christ did but not a single word of what He said. 🙂

I see absolutely no difference between Islam and Protestantism. with the sole exception that Islam denies Christ’s divinity. All else is common.

Catholicism stand alone diametrically opposed to eronious teachings attributed to Christ by Islam and Protestantism.

Blessings and peace
