Why do fundamentalists believe the world is 6000-10000 years old?

Where did you get such an unusual idea? Your views are quite distantiated from the truth of the matter. For example, the eminent biologist Theodosius Dobzhansky, a devout member of the Russian Orthodox Church, wrote an essay in 1973 entitled Nothing in Biology Makes Sense Except in the Light of Evolution.

I wasn`t disputing the age of the Earth.

The only issue was THE AGE OF THE HUMAN RACE.

Regarding the immortal soul: how can you call yourself a Catholic, and yet deny the Churchs DOGMA re our human soul. You cant have it both ways!

If you do deny the existence of the human soul, how do you explain the vast difference between our thinking ability and the capabilities of even the highest of the non-human animals. Please don`t come out with something about brain development. Man is a rational animal, and it IS the human soul which ultimately separates us. As already stated, the human spiritual soul is THE SEAT OF THE INTELLECT AND THE WILl, the same as with the angels.

You will have to read Marx. Marx said that Darwin’s theory was crucial to the marxist view of science. Anyone who promotes evolution as a foundation of any science is a marxist. It is obvious.
 
Can i just add, for every time i have offended somebody i am deeply sorry. I do not mean to offend, and i am the first to admit i get a little carried away when i discuss science. We are all seeking the same thing, we just find different answers.

The Bible isn’t a science book, it’s the word of God. 2Tim.3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”

Well, no. I have visited one of their lodges many times to hear lectures on a wide variety of topics.

However, theosophers are from Missisippy so to speak, they have to be shown the reality, if it is to be trusted. Theosophical books are full of all kinds of ideas. Life is too short to experience them all. There are no dogmas among theosophists, because it is important to learn through experience. We forgive those who are without experience, because each one of us will only gain so many.

Theosophy is eclectic, seeking the best from the great variety in life.

Lets say you can ask god just one question that has not been answered in history. He guides you to this new insight. A new insight can be work for a life time. Its the problem of that limited good, time. If everyone must spend their time doing the same things over and over, where is the time for new things to be done?

There is no religion higher that truth, is the moto of the theosophical society. Truth is a lot of work in other words.😉

Now, let us transpose your logic into a different key:You will have to read Cotton Mather. Cotton Mather said that the Bible was crucial to the Christian view of witches. Anyone who promotes Christianity as a foundation of any religion is a witch burner. It is obvious.

Was Marx’s use of Darwin correct? Was Cotton Mather’s use of the Bible correct? What can we deduce about Darwin’s theory from Marx’ incorrect use of it? What can we deduce about Christianity from Cotton Mather’s incorrect interpretation of it?

As I said, you need to find a better university.
