Why do Modern Popes Embrace Idolatry?

NO, they may be demonic.

When I was an atheist, I too didn’t believe in the supernatural.

When I was younger, I lived in a house which has been in my family for decades. It is a secret in my family that it is “haunted.” As a skeptic, I tried to keep my opinions to myself.

However…

When I moved there, I saw it for myself. And I don’t mean little things either, like seeing a shadow at night.

I mean things like levitation from my bed, doors slamming into me multiple times, seeing apparitions, objects flying. I remember one time, for example, my dog died. Several days later, I woke up to a growling sound. At the foot of my bed, was an *apparition *of my dead dog, foaming at the mouth, showing his teeth at me.

(There was even one time when I honestly think I may have been possessed. I saw a Bible in my sister’s room, and out of nowhere, I was filled with this intense hatred and anger for God( I actually yelled, "F*** God, Mary was raped, etc.), so, for no reason, I tore up the pages. It was strange, because this came out of nowhere. Even though at the time I was an atheist, I still would never do something like that to my sister or anybody for that matter.)

Everybody in my family knows about this house. We don’t talk about in public for obvious reasons. (As a matter of fact, the only reason I talk here about it is because I can remain anonymous.)

I know that you may not believe it, and may even write it off as hallucinations or whatever, but it is true. You can afford to do that, because you have the luxury of not having had to face such horror, and that’s fine.

Besides,* I know where you are coming from.* (sucks when people are condescending, huh?)

(I say that claims of miracles from other faiths are demonic, because one you know the “mark” of the beast, it is pretty easy to recognize it in society!)

Dnar

“Convert or burn in hell!”

I’m happy to burn in hell. Its a bit chilly right now.

I so love this argument. Its from the middle ages - yet you are still using it - its hilarious !

Its a simple bullying tactic - either agree with me or you’ll get hurt. How unbelievably sad that you seriously believe this.

Its when I hear believers like you that I am so so content that I’m free from religion.

Although I’m not a believer, I can see that religious belief can help other. It is such a shame that you spend your time intimidating others… or at least trying too.

Take a breath. Your threat doesnt work.

I do think there was a historic character, possibly named Jesus - the research isnt quite clear. (Remember the bible is NOT a historical source - some of it is poetry!)

But I do not believe in any supernatural being that created the universe.

See?! Want to give me another threat?! Oh… go on… please?
I guess you can’t read properly. Lets go over this again class. I said if they were to say this they would get nowhere. Simple reading 101 would have figured this out.

Another prime example how one takes specific words and only points them out without referring to anything else said. Typical.

And do I want to give you another threat?!? Are you serious? Who are you? I wasn’t threatening anybody. Sheesh.

Hi dnar,

My mistake! You’re right - I did read your post too fast… Ooops.

…sorry 😃

**QUOTE=straggleyway;5623053]Wisdomseeker

that is why faith alone does not work.

yes, but again, every religion says this. You need the temple or you need the priest or you must read the sacred writings…

But why should we believe all of your stuff is correct?!

i dont know exactly what you are looking for.

no, not every religion says this. if you study them right, you will see many differences. to much differences. it all depends what you are looking for. if you are looking for the Truth, there is only one.

now, tell which religion has a man who died on the Cross. tell which Man said, i am the Truth and the Life. I am the way. tell me which Man ever said: the Father in Heaven. there is a place for you in Heaven. eat my Flesh and drink my blood.

show history of Prophecy that has been fullfilled other than what the Sacred Book has recorded.

take a look at the teachings of Jesus and tell me which religion has such.

seek the Truth and you shall find. the Truth is not a thing. it is a Person.

I am still trying to figure out what all these lengthy private revelations have to do with the topic. You might want to re-read the rules about plagurizing . But in case you were embarrassed to post your cut and paste links, here is where the previous introduction to that post came from:

Hey Wisdomseeker,

so you say “no, not every religion says this. if you study them right, you will see many differences. to much differences. it all depends what you are looking for. if you are looking for the Truth, there is only one.”

I find this interesting - you start with that “not every religion says this”. Sorry, but every religion claims to demonstrate how to lead you life. Every religion claims to have the ideas that will help you lead lead a “good life”. This is common to religions.

Its also interesting that you capitalise “truth”… why?

Ok… lets look into this.

How should human beings decide what is “true”?

Maybe we are brought up as catholic and decide that the writing in the bible and rules from the Vatican are true and the way we should behave.

I dont agree. I was brought up with this and left because I believe the majority of the ideas within the cathollic church are wrong. I DO approve of th Golden Rule - but I cannot accept the rest.

How do you approch this subject? You ask the following question…

“now, tell which religion has a man who died on the Cross. tell which Man said, i am the Truth and the Life”

Erm… is this a biased question, do you think? You ask a question which only has one answer. Why?

Lets take a different view. Ask why you do not believe in Ganesh? Is it because your parents did not raise you and teach you about Ganesh… or is it because you believe it is “NOT TRUE”?

Think about this - its really important

All that I did was copy and paste it. I assumed that everybody knew that.

Besides, it is from God, and I am sure that God doesn’t mind.

Hey Shoewindow

I’ve 2 questions. You present text and claim “it is from god”.

Many have come before you and said… “I have god on my side - you have to agree”. It has been true throughout history. Humans seem to be built this way.

Ok the questions - please try to consider both:

First, can you prove your particular text is from your god?

Second, when you have done that, can you specify why you dont think the Hindu text is from Ganesh?

As I gracefully bow out of this catholic forum site, I would like to leave by posting one more post.
The Hindu sect claims we reincarnate over and over again, until we are made perfect, PERFECT, impossible as no one can ever be perfect, not only is it absolute nonsense but it is an insult why then did God send his son to die on the cross,?
So that all sins will be forgiven, that all maybe made Perfect in soul, and one day in body.
Our world did not by chance form all by it’s self this is not only impossible but ridicules at the same time. If I was to purchase furniture for every room in my house and leave it outside and wait millions of years for it to evolve my family would send me to a psychiatrist’s. All the other religions can say and believe in what ever they want wether it logical or not.
The bible is perfect, ask and you shall receive seek and you shall find, its all up to the individual all I know is Jesus is the truth and yes miracles do happen. There is so much the Catholic Church has to show it is the truth, Fatima, Lourdes where does the mystery waters come from? It still can’t be explained, what about the incorruptibles, there is so much more one can add, and I could go on for ever.
As this post refers to our current Pope,
I would have to say he has the hardest job on earth; at least his predecessors had the unity of Europe, the USA and far away Aussie land, not to mention the media.
Today they have only the faithful and a large cross to carry, I believe if it wasn’t the truth it would not have lasted over 2000 years and will continue until the end of time. Especially given the fact it has been constantly attacked both with in and out
God be with Pope Benedict May he strengthen him during these turbulent times.

I second this!
It is hard to believe this thread is still open.

shoewindow3000, Hope you know that site you quoted from is not in communion with the Vatican.

Hi all

There are a number of Catholic Sects that are not in communion with the Vatican. But as an outsider, heres a questions…

Why should we accept the ideas of how we should behave from the Vatican as opposed to any other Catholic Sect?

An obvious answer would be the Pope has a divine link to your god.

Then my second question is can you prove the Popes divine link to your god, and if so, how do you do this?

Ok, now it’s my turn to ask you an asinine question, and it’s a classic

Are you absolutely sure there is no absolute truth?

This twice I have no idea what your post has to do with the topic.

Are you suggesting that some modern pope has promoted indifferentism? If so, you will never be able to substantiate that.

Why is it that “traditionalists” - the SSPX types and their allies - the ones who claim that either the modern papacy is error or Vatican II is in error - are always quoting from private revelations?

They are also ready to put anathema onJPII, JXXIII, PVI,PiusXII but have nothing to say about the corrupt reigns of Medieval popes the Borgias being the worst example money being his idol.
Besides what is the motive- what is in the heart of these popes/Were they trying to promote brotherhood, peace, respect? Or were they secret idolators trying to infiltrate the church through the mask of concordia()Sounds like a novel! We should beware of their nefarious deeds!we don’t need no stinkin peace!

Hey Shoewindow

Youre more than welcome to ask me a question. But first please answer my questions.

To give you a taste of my answer to you - I hold moral relativism as a principle. Human morality has evolved over the ages. We used to burn witches - now we dont.

But please answer my questions…

Give Dan Brown a little more time and it will be.

No. Jesus said: go into the whole world and teach all men all that i have thought you. and He said: go into every city, if they hear you stay there, if they refuse to listen to you turn around and leave, shake even the dust of your sandals. for I tell you there will be more Mercy to sodom and gomorra then to that city. when Jesus came, many people outside of Israel had their own gods and beliefs. yet, Jesus said go into the whole world and preach the Gospel. you dont think Jesus new all about them?

Fear of the True God is the beginning of Wisdom.

pray for the Grace of God that you may see the Truth.

i quite understand your confusion. so many out there saying they have the Truth. it is up to you seek and to find it.

Bless are those who seek the Truth and find. Jesus said: seek and you shall find it.

i dont think i said anything about living a good life. what is a good life?

as Catholics our goal is to get to Heaven when our lives here is over.

how about you? where do you think you will be when your soul is called out of this world?

** Never before has there been so much learning, and yet so little knowledge of the truth.**

=shoewindow3000-Recent Popes have attended meetings or festivals with leaders of other faiths, such as Islam, Buddhism, etc. The Pope is the leader of the Catholic Church, which is the fullness of God’s revealed truth to mankind. Every soul on earth is called by God to come to the Church, and for the Pope to (implicitly) accept idolatry is CONTRADICTORY to his mission as a Christian!
Let me make my point this way…
Do you honestly think that the first pope, the Apostle Peter, traveled to Greece and said to the temple leaders of the Greeks gods,
“Hey there guys! Lets all dance together. I will worship God, while you worship your idols. It’s all good!” OF COURSE NOT!
He traveled to pagan populations to tell them about Christianity, not to have get-togethers!! As a matter of fact, he was killed by the Roman authorities for doing just that!
Why are Popes today so afraid to do this? They should put politics aside and place more importance on the real matters! I find the judgment of God to be of infinitely more importance than the judgment of the media.
Lets ask Peters Boss:) Did Jesus not teach in everything Charity?

Did Jesus not [by necessity of governance] give to His Pope the unlimited power to “Bind and Loose?” Which means to Govern. Did Jesus not promise the Holy Soirt and guide and protector og thee TRUTH.

Jn. 15:16 ****

Jesus praying "Jn.17: 17 *** 17 Sanctify them in the truth; thy word is truth. 18 As thou didst send me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be consecrated in truth. ***
To be a friend of God is to be an enemy of the world, and to be friends with the world is to be an enemy of God!
***And does not Jesus require that: ***18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age”? ******

*And how do you propose His Holiness fulfill His mandates [his soul is on the line]? By internet, and telephone only:blush: 🤷

Friend have you actually bothered to hear what His Holiness actually say’s on these trips? What he advocates, what he teaches? :hmmm:

Love and prayers friend,
I know that the Church will always prevail, because it is founded and kept alive by Christ, but this is crazy what the Popes have been doing!
I supose you can provide a few examples:rolleyes:**

i quite understand your confusion. so many out there saying they have the Truth. it is up to you seek and to find it.
Wisdomseeker,

Dont be so patronising - I am not confused at all! Again you are simply repeating yourself. You keep quoting events or text from the bible to back up your argument - the problem is every other religion - in fact every shade of christianity has arguments as to why their ideas are “true”.

You quote jesus saying I am the truth etc etc etc - every religion says the same thing. Hell, even the jungle religions that worship forrest spirits say this. Every religion HAS to have as it core that it can give meaning to your life and that other religions worship idols or false gods.

Where you brought up a catholic or did you join it in adult life?

If you bring up a child as a catholic, that child will think catholism is the only way to do things. However, I hold that there is no such thing as a *catholic **child *only a child of *catholic *parents. I see bringing religion down on children as a minor from of child abuse. You would raise a 1yr old child telling them they are a Capitalist or Communist child, would you?

So… EVERY religion claims it is the truth (I know you use a capital T, I dont…) not only yours.

And be very, very clear here, I’m not confused. = )
