Why do Mormons believe that God the Father has a physical body?

Would this be something that Mormon missionaries would tell us?
 
No. Not likely. Lying for the Lord is their duty. I have a son who just finished his mission less than two years ago. He didn’t know any of this stuff. Fortunately, he’s no longer in bondage to the Mormon lies either.
