Why do Muslims believe that the Modern New Testament is corrupted?

Therefore, the question that Christians really do need to ask themselves is:
The question Muslims need to ask themselves is: who spoke to Mohammed?

Muslims pray to stone.
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)
5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God,

Muslims throw stones at the devil.

Muslims continue the pagan rituals that existed before Mohammed.

Is it Christians… or… is it instead Muslims who are far more steadfast in faithfully obeying the Commands of God as written in the Bible?
The commands of God do not mention the worship of stone like Muslims believe.

13 You shall not murder.
Mohammmed murdered.

14 You shall not commit adultery.
Mohammed did worse with children, slaves and his adopted sons wife.

15 You shall not steal.
Mohammed stole and robbed caravans

16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.
Mohammed told lies about his Jewish and Christian neighbors- before killing them.

17 You shall not covet your neighbour’s house; you shall not covet your neighbour’s wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbour.
Mohammed did all thses things.

If Mohammed did not follow Gods law, why do Muslims follow Mohammed?

The failure to preserve the original language of Jesus, the FACT that the bible was NOT written by Jesus or in his time or Jesus did not see the bible compiled or completed…
Peshitta.

As to the second issue, writing down from dictation was common back then (think Baruch and Jeremiah). The Gospels were not written in a vacuum, suddenly gaining credibility, but were accepted after review–by the Apostles themselves or by those who lived close to Jesus–such as the 70.
DIFFERENT authors completed the bible often centuries after the passing of Jesus…
“Centuries” is not correct. Most scholars would not date the Gospel of John (recognized as the latest of the gospels) any later than the 2nd century A.D.–and many scholars would place that date far earlier–the late 1st century, early 2nd century. The Pauline and other epistles were almost entirely all written in the 1st century)

Different authors compiled the Tanakh. Just look at the Minor Prophets.
With GREEK being the original language used…
The Septuagint was in Greek. Your point?
The rise of Roman Christianity, the power of the Church connected to the political power of Rome,
Christians were persecuted for the first several centuries. The Edict of Milan was not until 313, the first Council of Nicaea, 325.
Adoption of PAGAN acts, like Christmas day being on 25TH DECEMBER near to the pagan winter solstice, to entice pagans…
So? Muslims heavily adopted Eastern Christian ways of praying. The Muslim Al Khadr (“The Green One”) is based on the Christian St. George.
Finally the REFORMATION when Christianity and the bible was made to fit in with society, NOT society fit in with Gods will.
The REFORMATION only directly affected Western Christianity. The Byzantines, the Copts, the Armenians, the Greeks, etc. were not affected by it.
Look at how many translations and VERSIONS of the bible there are, not ONLY does the bible CONTRADICT itself it contradicts the other bibles.
Look at how many different Muslim groups there are (Sunni, Shia–Twelvers, Ismali, Druze, etc.). Not only does each Muslim group make contradictions, but they contradict one another. Muslims must be corrupt. 🙂

Historical Christianity is rooted in a person, not in a book. But this aside, the non-Christian claim that there are different versions of the Bible is inflated. There are different versions in the text, but these differences are very minute, and they do not have a significant effect on the meaning of the text. Many Christians, when translating today, today follow the Masoretic text rather than the Septuagint text. Most of the books of the New Testament were written for pastoral reasons, for catechumens, for the newly converted, and so were possibly written in different languages as well.

rayaan prove your message pls.when and how the new testament corrupted?but pls don’t give the reference of quran.give me historical reference.but i guess you muslims can’t prove it ever.cuz you have only a blunt weapon and that is quran

I dont need the Quran to tell me the Bible is corrupt, I can read…

Go to your local library, go to a book store, pick up the different versions of the bible and you can see they conflict.

Jesus DID NOT write the bible and he never saw a completed bible, it WASENT even written by ONE author, it was written by different authors and compiled the different authors didnt even seem to know each other.

**The different authors even seem to take a different angle depending on there own views/beliefs **

You dont clarify the confusion over, how or WHY god wants Jesus so brutally slaughtered and murdered, and why the slaughter of one innocent man by humans would possibly mean God would forgive other people sins.

I dont even get why my sins would be forgiven by God, because people 2000 years go tortured and butchered Jesus…

Even more confusing then that YOU CALL GOD JESUS, now that means God** in order to forgive humanity for there sins, God demands that Jesus be tortured and brutally crucified…

But since you say that Jesus is God,

so that means to Christians, God demands the brutal blood sacrafice, and torture and murder of HIMSELF so he can then forgive humanity for his sins**

Now tel me, does that even makes any sense at alll…

The numerous mistakes and contradictions of the bible combined with different authors, translations, versions,

All of it just screams corruption

Comprehension might be lacking then.

How many books have been written about WW2? Do they all agree? Do they all disagree? Why believe one author over another?

The Qur’an had one source; Mohammed and/or an unidentified spirit. Mohammed didn’t know who frightened him and beat him up in that cave and neither do you, but you blindly accept it. Why?

Just a little common sense will suggest if any biblical story is to be valid over another it would have more than one verified source. Minor differences in the Gospels do not discount or contradict the basic story as that is found in even modern accounts about modern events. Major differences in the Quran suggest it is a fraud in itself, but compared to other facts known at the time of its creation prove it is more fiction than fact.

Muslims do not worship the Ka’aba.

When the city of Makkah was conquered by the early Muslims in 8 A.H., the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) ordered his companion Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to climb on top of the Ka’aba to make the call to prayer.

By comparison, is it even conceivable for Christians to stand on top of… or to even attach a bell on top of whichever statue that they are kneeling and bowing down to in order to sound the call for prayer?

Muslims do not worship the Ka’aba.
I didn’t say Muslims did. But before Islam, the people of Arabia went to the Ka’aba and walked around it just like they do now. They kissed the black stone before Islam, and still do it today.

Was this before or after he sent assassins to kill those he wanted killed in Mecca?

Church bells often ring on Sunday to call us to Mass.

Do a research on the net to see that the Koran has different versions today with conflicting translations and personal interpretations.

We also profess that Jesus never WROTE or dictated a book named Gospel. However, this alone does not prove or even provide evidence for the traditional Islamic assertion that Christian Scripture is not authentic and reliable.

Besides, all of your arguments can be and are readily used against the authenticity of the Islamic Scripture. Mohammad
never had the complete Koran in his hand; therefore, he could never say if the Koran version devised after his death was the same as the one supposedly dictated to him. The Koran Muslims have and read today contains various chapters that apparently differ in form and content, which leads one to the conclusion that it came from many sources. One deviser of a certain chapter did not probably know the deviser of another. More, a person devising a chapter most of the time added his personal opininon into the text through abrupt examples of anachronism and historical irrelevance.

I dont even get why my sins would be forgiven by God, because people 2000 years go tortured and butchered Jesus…
The reason underlying your personal confusion is your ignorance of the basic Christian tenet concerning Jesus’ passion and Atonement.

I would also ask you to clarify why Allah does not preserve his message until Mohammad’s time and thus leads people into confusion and suspense about the only true religion. WHY can Allah NOT have four of his revelations in their original form at the same time? WHY does Allah repeatedly fail to make his messengers establish the true religion on earth until Mohammad’s period? Could you please answer these questions?
Even more confusing then that YOU CALL GOD JESUS, now that means God** in order to forgive humanity for there sins, God demands that Jesus be tortured and brutally crucified…

This question of yours actually makes no sense since it is full of inconsistencies! If you could understand our Trinitarian faith, you would not have wasted your time to construct this question.

More, your question reminds me of a certain Atheist who used to make fun of the Islamic creed that Allah, who created Iblees and let him lead humanity astray through negotiation (gambling!) in Paradise, sent messengers to save the human race from his own monster, yet bragged about promising to fill Hell with evil people!!!
The numerous mistakes and contradictions of the bible combined with different authors, translations, versions,

All those supposed contradictions and screams of corruption actually come from first Muslims’ traumatic disappointment, which they experienced when they saw discrepancies between their own Scripture (Koran) and the Scripture of other faiths (Judaism and Christianity). Those pathetic people - in their anguish - chose the easy way out by slandering the Bible and defending the Koran. They believed in the Koran at the expense of the former revelations through acts of dishonesty and disinformation.

Church bells are commonly used to call to prayer. This was the norm in the Christian East as well, especially at the monasteries. However, the Muslim conquerors forbade the ringing of bells at Christian churches, and so the monks used wooden boards instead. When Orthodox lands were freed from the tyranny of Islam, they rang their bells once again. 👍

Christians have to obey the Commands of God, you say??..
Now, let us examine this verse of the Qur’an:

They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of Allah, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but One Allah: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him).Al-Qur’an, 009.031
Matt. 28:
18 And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. 19 Going therefore, teach ye all nations: baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.

You may read it friend but you don’t understand it.

That is false. I have several Bibles and they don’t conflict with each other.

I think that is a good thing since nowhere does it say that God is one dimensional and has to be like the Islamic God.
You dont clarify the confusion over, how or WHY god wants Jesus so brutally slaughtered and murdered, and why the slaughter of one innocent man by humans would possibly mean God would forgive other people sins.
To understand this you will have to get into man’s fall from the garden of Eden and original sin. It is totally opposite to your understanding of our first parents but a good starting point is a book called “Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis.
I dont even get why my sins would be forgiven by God, because people 2000 years go tortured and butchered Jesus…
You are almost there. Jesus died for you and me because somebody had to pay the penalty for our sins. Nothing you or I could do could redeem our sins and so God had to do it himself, because the gulf was too far between us.
Now tel me, does that even makes any sense at alll…
It actually does especially when you see the transforming power of Jesus Christ in a persons life.
The numerous mistakes and contradictions of the bible combined with different authors, translations, versions,

Fortunately this is your opinion albeit an incorrect one. As someone here pointed out, you are yet to prove that the Bible has been corrupted.

The Bible is indeed corrupted and unreliable and the Bible itself records God Almighty as saying this:

"`How can you say, “We [the Jews] are wise, for we have the law of the LORD,” when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?" (From the NIV Bible, Jeremiah 8:8)

In Deuteronomy 31:25-29, Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) predicted the corruption/tampering of the Law (Bible) after his death.

**25 he gave this command to the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD : **
**26 “Take this Book of the Law and place it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God. There it will remain as a witness against you. **
**27 For I know how rebellious and stiff-necked you are. If you have been rebellious against the LORD while I am still alive and with you, how much more will you rebel after I die! **
**28 Assemble before me all the elders of your tribes and all your officials, so that I can speak these words in their hearing and call heaven and earth to testify against them. **
29 For I know that after my death you are sure to become utterly corrupt and to turn from the way I have commanded you. In days to come, disaster will fall upon you because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD and provoke him to anger by what your hands have made.”

The Book of Moses predicted that the Law (Bible) will get corrupted. The Book of Jeremiah which came approximately 826 years after did indeed confirm this corruption.

You can read the history of man’s corruption of the Bible here.
If I want your Holy book explained, I won’t ask my priest.

Actually this is referring to the prophecy that Mosaic Law would be corrupted by Talmudic Law and Jesus repeats this often.

In regards to discrepancies in the Bible being used as a reason to call the whole Bible a corrupted piece of work, please note that within the Koran there are many discrepancies which are conveniently explained away by the ‘principle of abrogation’.

This means that the most recent verse wipes out the validity of any contradicting verse that came before it.

And a point that seems to have been overlooked: The Qu’ran was not published until a generation after Mohammed’s death. Since he was illiterate, some scribe must have taken down his words. Who can say that the transcription was correct? Given the lack of order in the book, with the Suras ordered simply by length, more or less the same way as the letters of Paul, its construction is every bit as arbitrary as the construction of the Old and New Testaments.

Could any of our brother or sister Muslim posters assist me. Maybe I missed some post on this thread, but I still wonder how a Muslim can believe from the lead post to this thread that corruption could occur in the New Testament. By analogy, we could reverse my reasoning to the Qu’ran. For example, let’s say for discussion’s sake that Muhammad was born 500 years before Christ and later when Christ came along and said that we Christians should respect the Qu’ran for it told the truth about the Muslim faith and its beginnings and was sanctioned and could be read. In addition, we know that the Qu’ran was valid and could not be corrupted by anyone later because numerous immediate disciples of the Prophet quoted extensive passages of the Qu’ran in their defense of the Prophet. Therefore we could reconstruct the essence of this holy book from just the documents that they left behind without having the original Qu’ran. Added to this was the fact, that Muslim scholars had in their hands original copies of the Qu’ran that dated back to less than 200 years after the Prophet’s death showing that the Qu’ran was still uncorrupted and whole before Christ gave his statements concerning the truthfulness and reverence for this God inspired book. Therefore how could a Christian do anything less than to immerse himself in the Qu’ran to learn the true roots of his Christian faith?
Therefore, could a Muslim reader help me understand where the charge of corruption of a holy text could occur when Muhammad stated that the NT was not corrupted. Or do we have a case of contradiction within Muslim reasoning?

You really do need to read this webpage which adequately explains the history of man’s corruption of both the Old and New Testaments.

I have a better question…Why do muslims claim that their religion, guided by their book, is peaceful? Their own religious experts will preach violence against unbelievers (that would be me) use the koran to back up their exhortations and then after an attack on innocent people, claim that islam is peaceful and threaten those who say it is not with death.
Please address THIS contradiction.😦

Hi

But that is wrongly understood. There is no verse in Quran which has been abrogated. Quran has encompassed all good and rational teaching of all the RevealedReligions of the World; and hence all of them stands abrogated with Quran. That is the true meaning of the verse 2:107:
[2:102] And now that there has come to them a messenger from Allah, fulfilling that which is with them, a party of the people to whom the Book was given have thrown the Book of Allah behind their backs, as if they know it not.
[2:103] And they pursue the course which was pursued by the rebellious men against the Kingdom of Solomon. And Solomon did not disbelieve; but it was the rebellious ones who disbelieved. They taught people falsehood and deception. And they claim that they follow what was revealed to the two angels in Babylon, Harut and Marut. But these two taught no one anything until they had said, ‘We are but a trial, from Allah, do not, therefore, reject what we say.’ So men learnt from them that by which they made a distinction between man and his wife, but they harmed no one thereby, except by the command of Allah; on the contrary, these people (the opponents of the Holy Prophet) are learning that which would harm them and do them no good. And they have certainly known that he who trafficks therein has no share of good in the Hereafter; and surely evil is that for which they sold their souls; if only they knew.
[2:104] And if they had believed and acted righteously, better surely, would have been their reward from Allah, if only they knew.
[2:105] O ye who believe, say not, to the Prophet, ‘Ra’ina,’ but say ‘Unzurna’ and hearken unto him. And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment.
[2:106] They, who disbelieve from among the people of the Book, or from among those who associate gods with Allah, desire not that any good should be sent down to you from your Lord; but Allah chooses for His mercy whomsoever He pleases; and Allah is Lord of exceeding bounty. **
[2:107] Whatever message We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring one better than that or the like thereof. Knowest thou not that Allah has the power to do all that He wills?**
[2:108] Knowest thou not that the Kingdom of the Heavens and the earth belongs to Allah alone? And there is no protector or helper for you besides Allah.
[2:109] Would you question the Messenger sent to you as Moses was questioned before this? And whoever takes disbelief in exchange for belief has undoubtedly gone astray from the right path.
[2:110] Many people of the Book wish, out of sheer envy from themselves, that, after you have believed, they could turn you again into disbelievers after the truth has become manifest to them. But forgive and overlook till Allah brings His decree. Surely Allah has the power to do all that He wills.
[2:111] And observe prayer and pay the Zakat; and whatever good you send on before you for yourselves, you shall find it with Allah; surely, Allah sees all that you do.

I think it is now clear to you.

Thanks

actually muhamed claimed that new testament is corrupted so muslims think that its corrupted.if muhammed claimed that he(muhammad)is god himself then muslim must belived that.and actually muslims started worship of muhammad mentaly.
