Why do non catholics dislike Mother Mary?

There are no personal insults, is not Christ enough must someone else come to. Mary didn’t die for you, go to the cross for you Christ did it all.

Since this discussion is being spurred on by someone who claims to be looking into Lutheranism, this may be a good time to see what Luther himself had to say about the matter:

you’re implying that I don’t appreciate what Jesus did for me, which yes is a hurtful and unnecessary remark

there’s no competition between Jesus and Mary, lol, do you think He’s jealous when I talk to her? haha :confused: He honours her too!

Christ is our life. Those in Heaven are in Christ and are alive.

I think you follow yourself. You are the one in a disadvantage because you reject the church the Jesus Christ founded, The Holy Catholic Church.

which interpretation of Scripture do you follow? and how do you know your interpretation is right?

there are 30,000+ possible Scripture interpretations in Protestantism…they can’t all be right… all claim the Holy Spirit lead them

Scripture interprets Scripture, there may be different denominations but at least we know no one person represents our Savior, nor do we require anything else than Christ and him crucified

well I’m glad that God knows my heart and HE is the judge, and not you. I think your posts are really judgemental and you’ll never convince anyone this way. But you’ll never convince me because I know Mary and I love her.

Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home."

Yes, indeed, follow Christ. I couldn’t agree more! 👍

Really, that’s all you have to say on the matter? The person who’s namesake is the Church that you are looking into sounds rather Catholic on the matter. If a person’s views on Mary are enough for you to judge whether they are Christian or not, where does that leave Luther? Was he Christian?..

Regardless I find Luther’s quotes beneficial to this thread in regards to both you and also to the OP.

Matthew 16:18-19

“And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven.”

Jesus Christ did not say Charsan: and upon this rock I will build my church.
