This has been hashed out many times, Christ never found a Church as an institution
Matthew 16:18-19

“And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven.”

Read your Bible.

well I’m glad that God knows my heart and HE is the judge, and not you. I think your posts are really judgemental and you’ll never convince anyone this way. But you’ll never convince me because I know Mary and I love her.
May you know Christ and fantasy less

Scripture interprets Scripture, there may be different denominations but at least we know no one person represents our Savior, nor do we require anything else than Christ and him crucified
If Scripture interprets Scripture, why are there so many different interpretations of it? even though Christ prayed for unity, and the Apostles taught unity of doctrine (“be of one mind…”)

in addition, the Bible says the Church is the “pillar and foundation of truth”

and the Apostles tell us to follow what they gave us through the written OR spoken word. (so not sola scriptura)

the Bible goes against sola scriptura

all the early Church Fathers disagree with you

Sorry it doesn’t say what you want it to say

Yeah I heard this all before

IMHO, that verse does not indicate that the 5.5 billion non-Catholics in the world have dislike Mary personally.

I only know of ONE - and she no longer does. She doesn’t know why she ever did. We now have 5,499,999 more to find (well, 5,500,000 since that one no longer does).

.

I don’t dislike her and most Christians don’t, however we don’t place her were she isn’t placed in Scripture. Yes she is blessed but not to be bowed down to or prayed to.
I agree I don’t dislike or hate her. What I don’t understand is they pray to her to pray for others and say its just like us when asked to pray for others. I don’t believe that to be true. When we are ask to pray for others they don’t pray to us for us to pray for them.
They ask something like “hay, will you pray for my friend he really needs it.”

I wouldn’t get too caught up into what Charsan2 is posting. By their own bio they are Christian looking into Luthurism and are posting on a Catholic forum and just joined 3 days ago.

Kinda prudent to pause and wonder. We are encouraged to be wise as serpents yet gentle as doves.

Cyberspace is a perfect place to yank chains and cause dissension.

We celebrate the Word Incarnate’s appearance in just a few days.
We reflect and meditate on what the means to us as a people, and as individuals.

Don’t let another’s agenda take you off the course you have set for yourself in this Advent/Christmas season. Steady as she goes goes. 😉

Christ IS born. Of Mary. Thru the Holy Spirit. Rejoice and be glad. For our Lord HAS come amongst us to save us from our sins!

And Holy is His name
Amen.

Well, this thread asks, “Why do non-Catholics dislike Mary?”
That would be about 5.5 billion people.

I’m TRYING to see if anyone knows of even ONE that has a dislike for Her, personally.
So far, one said she USED to (she doesn’t know why) but no longer does.

Where are these 5.5 billion people who have a great dislike for her, personally?
I suddenly feel very isolated. I know hundreds and hundreds of people. Christians (of all sorts), Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, Shintos, Taoists - and a LOT of agnostics and atheists. And I’ve yet to know ANYONE who hates her. With 5.5 billion of them, you’d think I’ve would have met at least ONE, wouldn’t you?

I disagree with the threads premise. See my quotes from Martin Luther a few pages back.

God bless

Fair point.

People actually hating Mary?
Never heard of it.
If anything, there are people who are apathetic.
Not the same as dislike or hate for sure.

Some people, like Charsan2, are completely fine leaving her “dead”

So be it. So they dont ask for her interesssion. Their loss, actually.

For those of us who ask for her interession with her Son, she is our gracious advocate.

How blessed we are. 👍
