What might those be?I was once engaged to a Catholic. Even though I disagree on many things Catholic,
I do disagree with that post, but not that part of the post. I disagree with pretty much everything else. I do not believe that only Catholics are part of the one church and I know Catholics who agree. I was told by a Catholic that this is Vaticcan one. I agree that Jesus Christ founded ONE Church, not many churches.When you said that you disagreed, you were disagreeing with this post;
So this is why I thought that you think there is more than one church. This poster, francesco920, says that there is just one church, and then you say you disagree. So if that is not the case, then could you please specify as to what exactly in that post are you in disagreement?
I think it’s a bit off topic, really. Plus I’ve answered it in many other threads. if you want to discuss it ore we could start another thread I suppose. What might those be?
Well then you should’ve said this is part of the post with which you disagree.I do not believe that only Catholics are part of the one church and I know Catholics who agree.
Yes, I know the Holy Spirit and I know about the church that Jesus built. It is His body. I am a part of His body. The Holy Spirit guides me and my church as well. I wouldn’t attend it if the Holy Spirit wasn’t present. As a matter of fact the reason why I choose not to join the Catholic church is because I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit more at my church than I do at the Catholic church I attend every week with my husband. I know Peter was the first Pope of the Catholic church. You already know about the Gospel, which means that you know of Jesus Christ. Do you know the Holy Spirit? We are trying to tell you about the Church that Jesus Christ built. The Holy Spirit guides the Catholic Church through the successor of Peter. You just choose to be “closed off” to the fact that the Catholic Church is the one that Jesus built on Peter the Rock.
This is part of a huge problem. Faith is not about “feelings” that we get while at Mass. And your faith should not be about your feelings that you get while you attend Sunday Service. If you really believe that you have FAITH, then you would not have to rely on feelings to “bring the faith to you.” That is not how Faith works. Faith is a Gift from God. It is an act of the WILL. You yourself are deciding NOT to have any kind of Faith when you attend a Catholic Mass. I am asking you, please, if you ever attend a Catholic Mass again, please do not rely on your feelings, just let God take over. Pray and give yourself over to God. Pray to the Holy Spirit and don’t have any preconceived notions when it comes to the Catholic faith. You seem to already decide not to “have faith” when you attend a Catholic Mass. Faith is NOT about our “feelings.”As a matter of fact the reason why I choose not to join the Catholic church is because I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit more at my church than I do at the Catholic church I attend every week with my husband. I know Peter was the first Pope of the Catholic church.

Even though incorporated into the Church, one who
does not however persevere in charity is not saved.
He remains indeed in the bosom of the Church, but
‘in body’ not ‘in heart.’"
That sounds like I am either Catholic or in unity with the Catholic church. That is the impression I get from what is written above.AlegreFe;1982891 said:838 “The Church knows that she is joined in many ways to
the baptized who are honored by the name of Christian, but do
not profess the Catholic faith in its entirety or have not
preserved unity or communion under the successor of Peter.”
Those “who believe in Christ and have been properly baptized
are put in a certain, although imperfect, communion with the
Catholic Church.” With the Orthodox Churches, this
communion is so profound “that it lacks little to attain the
fullness that would permit a common celebration of the Lord’s
Eucharist.”
I have not gone through -]conformation/-] Confirmation and first communion. So, I know I am not Catholic, but that doesn’t rule out the fact that I as well as others like me should be united with the Catholic church. When, we are rejected by the Catholic church.
If you agree then why aren’t you part of Catholic Church?AlegreFe:![]()
AgreedI truly believe that we should all be part of the Catholic Church since we have Jesus in the Eucharist here. Jesus commanded that we all partake of His Body and Blood.
How so? How do you have the real presence of Christ in your “bread” when you gather for the “Lord’s Supper” or at the “Lord’s Table?” (I don’t know what you call it in your church). Do you have validly ordained Priests in your church? Do you have any “Priests” at all in your church for that matter? Or are there only “ministers” or “pastors” in your church? Are there any Bishops in your church that have succession through Peter, the First Bishop of Rome, our First Pope? If you have “none of the above” then you cannot have the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Only a Catholic Priest that is validly ordained by a Bishop that succeeds the Apostles can consecrate the Host and the Wine so that we can have the real presence of Jesus Christ.AlegreFe:![]()
DisagreeThe only place you can do that is right here in the Catholic Church.
There is something you can read. You can read from the start but in particular there is a section called Her betrothal to Joseph. You have to scroll down about ¼ of the way to get to that section. If you have time, why don’t you read the whole article on Mary.lak611;1975371:
So, to summarize, the Catholic Church teaches that Mary is the spouse of both Joseph and the Holy Spirit (not clear on whether this is at the same time or sequentially), but mother (and non-divine sister) of God the Son whose Father is God the Father who is not either of the spouses of Mary, though God the Father/God the Son/God the Holy Spirit are all really one God? And people think that polytheism is too complicated to be true?Mary is not the spouse of God the Father, but she is the spouse of God the Holy Spirit (the Holy Spirit is God).
Thanks. Very, very different than any other treatment of Mary I have seen, but then I have not known many Catholics. There is something you can read. You can read from the start but in particular there is a section called Her betrothal to Joseph. You have to scroll down about ¼ of the way to get to that section. Here is something you can read about The Annunciation as far as the Holy Spirit.
I do not base my faith on my feelings. I definitly do not rely on my feelings to bring my faith to me. I attend the Catholic mass with just as much faith as I do at the nondenominational service. I attend mass every Sunday and on all special days of obligation. I do let God take over. Again, I do not rely on my feelings. I pray and give myself over to God every day. I pray to the Holy Spirit and I don’t have any preconceived notions when it comes to the Catholic faith. as I said earlier I have not decided not to “have faith” when I attend a Catholic Mass. I know faith is not about our feelings and I don’t base mine on feelings. Now if it be God’s will that you remain in your church, well then I have nothing to say about that. But that doesn’t mean that I should not and cannot tell you about the Catholic Church that Jesus Christ built on Peter the Rock. That doesn’t mean that I cannot tell you that you can have the Fullness of Truth right here in the Catholic Church and the FULL Means of Salvation!
:yup: I really think God wants you here because Jesus Christ established all 7 Sacraments to be the means of obtaining Sanctifying Grace throughout your lifetime. That is the FULL means of Salvation. We would love to have you Home with us.
I do not hear the Holy Spirit calling me to the Catholic Church. I hear Him in my soul, but He is not telling me to join the Catholic Church. When I mentioned earlier about feeling the Holy Spirit, this is what I was refering to, hearing God in my soul. I walk by Faith and not by sight, hearing, or feelings. I do have my eyes, ears, mind, and heart open.Do you hear the Holy Spirit calling you Home to the Catholic Church? You have to hear Him in your soul. And with that, you don’t “feel” for the Holy Spirit. We walk by Faith, not by sight, hearing or feelings.
As far as “feelings” or “sight” you just might get something from God that you can see (not necessarily by sight) in order to have faith. Jesus did that for Thomas. Thomas had faith, but he was just doubtful. But Jesus still let him see His wounds and even feel His wounds. So you never know when God will present you with something. You just have to have your eyes, ears, mind and heart open so that you won’t miss it.Does this make sense to you? I sure hope so.

Yes, I am baptised in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. I know that I am part of the body of Christ and that I am not a part of the Catholic Church. I’ve stated that before.Since you believe in Jesus Christ and you are baptized in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit (you are right?) then you are part of the Body of Christ. But you are not part of the Catholic Church.
More in next post…
I only say it, because it is true. They seem to be some of the most involved/devoted Catholics. One of them was a Priest, sadly enough.Yes, because I haven’t gone through confirmation.…cont.
Huh? Don’t say that. No one here in the Catholic Church should reject you.
And if you have been rejected outright by a Catholic then they are really not Catholic.
Now if you are talking about not being able to receive Jesus in Holy Communion I’m sure you know why. You do know why right?
When I agreed, I was saying that unity between all churches would be nice, We need that. I was also agreeing that Jesus commanded that we all partake of His Body and Blood. How can I not in is scriptural. You can agure with God’s Word. The reason I am not a part of the Catholic Church is, because the Holy Spirit hasn’t lead me that way yet. Maybe someday and maybe not.If you agree then why aren’t you part of Catholic Church?
We would love to have you here.![]()
We have called it Eucharist, communion, and the Lord’s Supper. They are called Pastors. I have heard Priests called Pastors as well. We have Bishops, but we use a different name. They are ordained through the Holy Spirit. Says who? You are going on what you have heard and not on faith. Oh, we are back to the topic of faith again, what a coincedence. How so? This is an interesting word (spouse)so I have done some looking up in the dictionary and the compendium(cactechism), the bible.Mary is not the spouse of God the Father, but she is the spouse of God the Holy Spirit (the Holy Spirit is God).
If you want to know more about Full Communion go to the Wikipedia free encyclopediaI only say it, because it is true. They seem to be some of the most involved/devoted Catholics. One of them was a Priest, sadly enough.Yes, because I haven’t gone through confirmation.

LOL!!! That one reallly cracked me up! thanks. As for further confusion about the BVM. She is of course the Grandmother of Jesus. As you know she is the Mother of God. God is the father of Jesus, thus she is Jesus’ grandmother.
She is of course the sister of Jesus. Jesus is the Son of God, Mary is the Daughter of God, thus Jesus sister.
She is the spouse of Jesus as she is the spouse of the Holy Spirit, who is of course the Spirit of Jesus, and if your are married to someone’s spirit you are married to them.
Mary must be the spouse of the Pope. Mary is of course the Mother of the Church and the Holy Father is the Holy Father of the Church thus they must be married as they would not have a mutural child unless they were married, one being a good Catholic, the other being a perfect Jew.
Mary is the Mother of Jesus’s second cousin. Mary is of couse the Mother of us all. Thus Mary is the Mother of Elizabeth the mother of John the baptist, and Jesus’s second cousin.
As the Mother of all she is, of course, the mother of Jesus’s stepfather, Joseph and therfore is the step-grandmother of Jesus as well as his Grandmother on his real Father’s side.
My brain hurts! I think, perhaps, Mary is her own grandmother. She is the Mother of all, so would be the Mother of both Her Mom and Dad so would be her own grandmother on both sides of the family.(This is intended to be taken with tongue in cheek not seriously.)

Well, I didn’t mean to, and if I did, I apologize. Reading that post just make sit so clear that it is much too complex for my puny little mind. I think the best way to understand Mary’s relationship to the Godhead is to participate in it experientially, rather than trying to parse it by reason. That was too comical but I think Karen is really trying to understand our beliefs and you just put a damper on it.
