then shall ye also
For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
I mighteth cometh ye thou that is not saith unto thus.
No disrespects. I am full of admiration for old English. I infact teach English. But when it comes to use of archaic English, I am hopelessly lost.

Please forgive me

No disrespects but one suspects you have had a very sheltered upbringing.

I work for the Correctional and Social Services. I work in the ‘real’ world! 😉

I can tell you that the average ‘non-believer’ on seeing his neighbour disapear would not even stop to think where they went to. They would probably keep an eye on the empty house to see if it is worth burgling. Or if the car is worth pinching before some other smart person pinches it.

Tell them that and they would die with laughter. 😛
But as for ‘turning from their sins’, they do not even believe in such a concept. Sins are the foolishness of believers. Smarter folk don’t sin, they just take advantage of opportunities.

Some Church, probably be organised along the lines of the average ‘Hells Angels’ or ‘Outcast Chapters’. There would indeed be sacrifices: human sacrifices. The only collection that would be taken up would be ‘used kneedles’ and any spare cannibis 😉
Mat 24:38
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

Mat 24:39
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Mat 24:40
Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Mat 24:41Two [women shall be] grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Mat 24:42
Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

So, what got raptured? If the Church got raptured, then it’s gone. It doesn’t matter how you define “church” - if it’s gone, then it’s not here.

We have the promise of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, but there is no promise in Scripture about a second Church.
THE Church got raptured not a form of godliness.

Jimcrae, shame on you, tut tut tut!

Just as I say ‘you cannot use the scriptures against the church whose scriptures they are’ so ‘you cannot use the criticism of CC against whose church the criticisms they are’.

Just because Purgatory is not actually mentioned by name in the scriptures, we still believe in it. So too the third and forth comings, is not actually mentioned but it WILL happen.

What with all the ‘comings and goings’ the Lord will be quite busy, so don’t trouble HIm unless you really need to 👍

I find more evidence for Purgatory in Scripture than for the pretribulation rapture.

It’s okay - I’ve got Mary and the Saints. 😃

If THE Church got Raptured, then it’s no longer here. It doesn’t matter how you define it; it’s gone; it went to Heaven.
What you don’t understand is the true church is built on the Faith in Jesus alone. This faith comes from the Word of God. Walk in this faith and not by sight. It is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

You should have Jesus. Mary can’t help you.
Mary says to me, “Do whatever He tells you to do.” (John 2:5) She also teaches me about His human and divine nature. So, you see, she helps me a great deal, and to have Mary is to really have Jesus - not just my own ideas about Jesus (which could be false, since I am not personally infallible), but the real Truth about Him. 👍

Exactly, and definitely take her advice.

If the Church is faith in Jesus alone, then what was Raptured prior to the Tribulation (which has been upon us for quite some time now) was faith in Jesus alone.

Faith in Jesus alone thus cannot exist upon the earth, under the theory of the pretribulation Rapture, since it has been Raptured prior to the Tribulation, and thus no longer exists on earth. Thus, no one currently residing on the earth can have faith in Jesus alone since it is gone, having been Raptured.

I hope with my clumsy use of language that I’m getting across to you the enormity of what you are saying when you say that the Church (which, regardless of how we define the Church, we konw that the Church is our means to get to Christ while we are here on the earth - by “the Church” we all mean, “the possibility of coming to Christ” regardless of whether we believe it is visible or invisible, institutional or purely spiritual) is going to be Raptured before the Tribulation, and yet, the Tribulation is, by definition, the Devil’s attacks upon the Church (that is, the means of salvation through Jesus Christ, regardless of how we actually define that).

First, if there is no Church, then there can be no Tribulation, since there is no Christian person on earth to trouble.

Second, there aren’t going to be any Christians during the supposed period of Tribulation, if the means of becoming a Christian has already been Raptured.

Third, God has never spared His chosen people from trouble before; why start now? It’s totally inconsistent with His previous behaviour regarding both the Old Testament and the New Testament Churches. Christ, the only beloved Son, was crucified. The Apostles were all hauled away to prison, and all but one of them were martyred. How can we ourselves expect any less?

Those believers left in the last days.

There will still be Bibles everywhere for people to read and get to know Jesus. Many churches have left material for those who will be left behind. People who have Christian friends will also know what happened.

Actually, the tribulation is God’s wrath; judgement. The Great tribulation as described starts at 3 1/2 years into the tribulation.
First, if there is no Church, then there can be no Tribulation, since there is no Christian person on earth to trouble.
Remember, it’s God’s wrath on the unbelievers not Satan’s wrath. Believers in Christ are spared. People who turn to Jesus during the tribulation will most probably be executed.

The means has not been raptured. There will still be bibles everywhere. You obtain faith by the Word of God. Not by traditions. (You don’t have to dispute this. I already know your position on your traditions. We can dispute them in another thread)

Yes, He has. Numerous times. He spared them when He split the Red Sea, He spared them when Noah built the Ark, He spared them when He sent Jesus to the cross. Now, it’s time for judgement.

No, they can’t, since the means to comprehend what is written in the Bibles will be gone. It’s been Raptured away. Doesn’t exist on the earth any more.

The Judgement Day will not take place until after the destruction of the whole earth. Up until that moment it continues to be the Age of Mercy.

The Tribulation is Satan’s final attack on the Church. Not the Final Judgement - that won’t happen until after the final destruction of the earth.

None of them were ever spirited away before the trouble came. They had to pass through the trouble in order for God to take them out of it.

Not really. Here’s where my explanation gets hairy. Let’s take you for example, I’ve told you about the rapture and you don’t believe it. However, you will already know what to do when this event occurs. What you do is drop everything you’ve been taught about your religion and turn to Jesus in Faith. Read your Bible and develop a personal relationship with Jesus. (That’s a hard one to swallow I know).

Not so. That’s your religion talking.

Not so, the tribulation is God’s Wrath. Jesus will return with His church in the Mt of Olives. Satan is bound for a 1000 years and then let loose.

Not so, the tribulation is God’s Wrath.
Then why bother with a Judgement Day?
Jesus will return with His church in the Mt of Olives. Satan is bound for a 1000 years and then let loose.
The thousand years are long since over; Satan is already loose. We are already in the time of the Tribulation.

And by the way, I have a more personal relationship with Jesus than someone like you can even imagine. 😉

You don’t have to believe me, just remember what I said.

And now another word from Apo…

“I don’t know what you’re talking about”

Any questions?

I think jmcrae and believers have a very interesting side discussion going on.

Is it possible to start a new thread for it so I can follow up on it as a separate discussion outside of protestant objections to purgatory? 🙂
