Why Do Protestants think They Know Everything There Is To Know About The Catholic Faith?

And much worse,maybe questioning what our pastor taught us from God’s word. Both Catholics and Protestants teach their children that the church only teaches them what the word of God says. And we are not to go against God’s word.
I was not allowed to read books on other religions. I was not allowed to show an interest in other religions. If I asked a question about something that maybe a friend said,I was told that my friend was wrong. And of course it was explained with bible in hand.
Once I bought an old Catholic bible and was so pleased that I would be able to read those missing books not found in my King James version. My mother said I should burn it! I did not want to burn it so I gave it to my pastor. Even he didn’t believe it should be burned. But I respected my mother enough to at least not keep it.
I’m sure there are many who find their way to a certain denomination during their adulthood. Without a parent insisting they follow certain teachings.
But you asked me why I am not Catholic. And I answered your question honestly. Now as an adult and with the WIDE WORLD WEB, thank God I can ask questions and do my own research.
I can read anything I want and find out for myself the answer to my questions. That’s why even in here when I read something someone says,I look it up to confirm it’s accuracy.
I pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide my way. As I am sure many here both Catholic and Protestant do as well.
I’m not here to bash the catholic faith,I am here to learn from Catholic believers.
And I am disappointed when I ask a question and don’t get an answer. Like my question was,Why don’t Catholics point out these miracles. Why don’t they point out the fact that Mary herself has appeared to many. Why not mention that Mary has called herself the Queen of Heaven. Mary has asked that the rosary be said many times for our salvation. She talks about St.Michael interceding for her. I have read so many amazing stories and I don’t understand why Catholics aren’t more verbal about them.

well, about the bible part, it kind of explains the whole thing here. even though all catholics are not in full understanding of things, the actual church has the exact same beliefs worldwide, always has. with protestantism, many a time your christian experience can only be traced within a town or city. with the catholic church its a world wide community professing the same things that they have held true to for 2000 years. luther came along and “splintered the block” 500 years ago because he was scrupulous to a maximum level. ask yourself wether or not you want to be part of the catholic church, with so much history, that can date to christ. or protestantism that is divided many a time and going in different directions.

Maybe because Catholics think they know everything about the “protestant” faith?!?😛

Seriously though, I have found that many people think they know much about what they know nothing of…

The Evangelicals, heading to the airport, to catch a flight to
Central America - to bring the good news of Jesus - are far too
busy - with the work of their Lord…

Like the early church, these Christians really* do* think that
Jesus is good news, and they can’t wait to share this news.

the Early Christians are Catholics. There no Protestants in those days.

It’s kinda stupid for Protestant to go to Latin American and try to convert Catholics there when in fact they received Jesus Christ at Mass. Protestants need to get out of those countries…
 
Because they take off from a misinformed mindset from their anticatholic sentiments. Some are convinced of what they are told about the Catholic church without investigating the Truth. It is sad, that this misinformation about the Catholic church comes from their public forums, not to mention their religious leaders making it a convincing argument unchallenged within their own communities.

I admit as a Catholic I will never know everything to know about Protestantism or non Catholics, because there are too many to learn and most of all too confusing. The only thing I find in common among protestants and non catholics is that they all protest the One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, and the Bible the Catholic church gave them. Besides this; it would take me two many life times inorder to catch up to the non Catholic theologies, then start again, because changes or new doctrines would have developed or splintered during a life time.

Truth will prevail.
 
Joseph and Jesus were Jews.
They would have donned the phylacteries, each morning,
to say morning prayer. Mary would have had the Sabbath
meal prepared, for Friday.

Can you show us all in Scripture where it says tat Jesus founded the Catholic church upon Peter. I hav read Matthew many times and I never saw where it says that.:doh2:
