Why do so many bishops/priests/monks/nuns/etc. go to hell?

Thanks for responding and providing some actual quotes. I would appreciate it though if you would give the source for these quotes in these two writers. I had looked forward to reading the whole passage so that I can fully understand what the writer has said.
The first quote certainly is like the way St. John Chrysostom spoke and he did use such graphic language in his sermons. (You did mispell his name though I noticed.)
unfortunately I don’t have the full passage for these quotes or read any of them…because I have a fear of reading the writings of saints because I might come across something that will lead me into despair or scrupulosity. I came across some of these quotes by one of those “Quotes On The Fewness Saved” websites…I wouldn’t recommend anybody to read those…I did a couple months ago and I’m still trying to get out of a funk of despair, scrupulosity, and “am I good enough?”…this is why I’m asking why priests can be damned, it’s not to put them down…I’m really bothered by this and am trying to find a reason why this is so, so I can move on in peace and not worry about things

Its because there are seven deadly sins. Sometimes when we escape the big ones like lust (priests seem to have a much easier time with this one) it is pride that gets us because we are so excited and prideful about having escaped lust. This is why frequent mass and confession is important - and staying off those sites that will quote mine to prove that we are the whore of Babylon. 😉

Why do so many go to hell?
for the same reason someone in any walk of life goes to hell, they totally reject God’s love, mercy and forgiveness at the moment of death. Bear in mind the Christian convert must live to a higher standard than someone who has never known Christ and his commands, the person dedicated to ministry and service to the church has an even higher standard than the average Christian, because he is more closely conformed to Christ in his role as servant. Also according to these same saints, the temptations one endures when they advance to a higher spiritual state are much deadlier than the temptations to sins of the flesh that are the first basic sins we learn.

Because religious life is a high calling, not one to be taken lightly. There are special graces offered to those in that particular state of life and so it follows that “to whom much is given, much is required”. Perhaps some of these people weren’t called by God to be a religious,so that they chose religious life as they’d choose any other career, without a vocation. Or they didn’t start out with the right disposition or lost the right disposition along the way. If at the core of your being, there is no self-denial, sacrifice, deep humility, obedience to the Magisterium no matter what, deep love and veneration for God, it’s spiritual suicide to become a priest/monk/nun. Also bishops have a tremendous responsibility: they are trusted with the souls of all the sheep making up their flock, they’re to be their sheperd in a very real sense, failing gravely to live up to that responsibility is enough to compromise their eternal fate.

I was married legally, but not yet in the church while cohabitating. I was told by the deacon that was doing our pre marriage counseling this was not a problem at all. I imagine carelessness such as this contribute to the damnation of the religous:nope:
