Yes, it’s interesting that ECs (and some modernists who like to say “I’m spiritual but not religious”) make that distinction between “religion” and “relationship”. Which is a nonsensical distinction–for the term"religion" comes from the Latin word religiare, which means…relationship!During the time I was an Evangelical Christian I heard many of my contemporaries draw a distinction between religion and a relationship with Jesus. And I think if you were to look you’d probably find this same distinction emphasized in Evangelical literature.
'zactly! :yup:That’s why some Evangelicals do not see attendance at church as particularly important. They are saved, they are assured of salvation, and they have a relationship with Jesus – so why would they go to church if they have something else more important to do? I daresay not all Evangelicals think in this way but most of the ones I know certainly do.
By the way, I didn’t think you were rude or offensive, either.![]()
Why, thank you, Mick, for coming to my defense! Oh, the irony of being called rude by someone who is now banned. :doh2:Cordially,
Mick

And, I saw no mocking tone in your posts either!
