I do not know what “clap trap” means.Jack,
Where did you get this “clap trap” notion of Catholic?

Jack,If you still believe you will go to heaven, though you choose sin at times, so will a gay catholic. No difference. A sin is a sin.
I think faith and church are two separate things. Please clarify.
I must repent of my sin and seek the sacrament of Reconciliation for mortal ones (and even venial ones). If a homosexual Catholic who has done wrong recognizes they did wrong and repent for it (and other sins) they will also be allowed into Heaven. I am not forgiven without repenting and without asking for it and if a homosexual Catholic does wrong and refuses to repent for it, then there will be consequences.
Manic,LOL,
I don’t see how states have a right to make homosexual marriage illegal, it’s based on religious moral principles that have no place in state law due to the separation of church and state.
Everyone has a right to be happily married as long it’s between 2 consenting adults no matter the sex who love one another. Heterosexuals have made a mockery out of marriage according to the word of Bible, so I don’t see why people want to get all worked up over this issue of “gay marriage”.
Cool, so we can repent every time we sin and we’ll be ok?I must repent of my sin and seek the sacrament of Reconciliation for mortal ones (and even venial ones). The Pope is just a mascot? You do not wish to offend? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm…In my opinion itis unkind and cruel to deny equality to a loving, long term relationship. We can take the pope out of it, he is just a mascot. I am sorry I brought him up. I don’t mean to offend.
Separation of Church and state doesn’t mean religious institutions have no say in law. It means that they cannot have a state religion and make it so that religious leaders cannot also be political leaders (the British had Anglican Bishops in Parliament). That is more closely aligned with the definition of “Separation of Church and State.” Also, what do you mean by rights. Are we talking legal rights or intrinsic rights from God because I’m pretty sure God never bestowed that right. Also, heterosexuals making a mockery of marriage doesn’t mean that allowing gay marriage will somehow remedy it.LOL,

their ‘union’ is a sterile one by nature. In essence they can never be a mommy and daddy couple. Octogenarian heterosexual couples can still be a mommy and daddy couple. As far as the Catholic Church is concerned their sexual union is still ordered toward being open to the creation of life. A homosexual union can never be open to the creation of life. They’re not sterile. They’re just incapable of procreating with each other. Just like octogenarian couples. Yet, what is the Catholic Church’s position on them getting married?
I am sorry. I am actually unclear as to what the pope does daily. I guess “representative” would have been more palatable. The Pope is just a mascot? You do not wish to offend? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm…![]()
This has to be true and utter repentance. You cannot commit a sin and think “I’ll just say sorry and it will be all good.” One must perform penance and feel truly sorry for their sins. If they cannot make themselves feel truly sorry, prayer is always an option.Cool, so we can repent every time we sin and we’ll be ok?
Jack,I do not know what “clap trap” means.
claptrap ˈklæpˌtræp]
n Informal
- contrived but foolish talk
- insincere and pretentious talk politicians’ claptrap
I guess you could call the Pope a representative. He is the representative of Christ on earth. He is the man in the top position of the Catholic Hierarchy and is infallible in matters of faith and morals.I am sorry. I am actually unclear as to what the pope does daily. I guess “representative” would have been more palatable.
Yeah, just repent every time you sin and you’re good to go!Just,
Catholics are Christians that follow Christ and
Believe
Live that belief
Strive to be Holy and reject sin
Pray and ask for help
We accept all sinners however believe that we should renounce our sins and not be identified by our sins…ie gay bashing Catholics would be asked to renounce their gay bashing…adulterers would be asked to renounce their adultery and “gay” to renounce the lifestyle…just renounce your sins…that is all…
Jack,I am sorry. I am actually unclear as to what the pope does daily. I guess “representative” would have been more palatable.
Why are so many “catholic answers” analogies?Jack,
The Pope is the Shepherd of the flock and in fact functions kind of like an umpire.
Just,Yeah, just repent every time you sin and your good to go!
ok, so what if one keeps committing the same sin with intent. Will they be allowed in to heaven?Just,
Nope…repent with the intention to change…
Repent…Metanoia…in Greek means change your mind…because if you don’t change your mind then you are not repenting and not good to go…
