I know it’s not, but it’s also not anti-“appealing to scritura”. My question remains. Would you be willing to answer it?

2 Thessalonians 3:10

For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.

2 Corinthians 9:7

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

That quote was widely used in the Soviet Union, starting from the very beginning with Lenin. It even appeared in the constitution.Would you call Lenin anti-communist?

The Soviet Union had wages for workers… but even if they didn’t, you could give half a load of bread to a hungry person or let someone borrow your car. The idea that being pro-charity is the same as being anti-communist and pro-private property of the means of production is false

There are different types of competition and conflict though. Ex: Competition against nature, against one’s sinful nature, against whatever adversary presents itself to whatever goal you seek.

In terms of seeking salvation, competition may, or may not be a useful tool. I’d say that depends largely on your temperament.

So who do you sell all your stuff to? Once you have all that money and you give it to the poor what do they do with all the stuff they buy? Sell it and give the money to the poor? Why not just skip a step and give all your stuff to the poor?
