Why do woman like shoes?

i took a lot of modern dance in college and a lot of stuff about unhealthy shoes and unhealthy posture were drilled into us at that time.

I like to go barefoot around the house year round. One reason for it is that if a cat has made a mess, it is easier to step in it with bare feet as one immediately notices and can wash one’s foot and clean it up. If you have a shoe on, you will not feel the wetness and will probably not see the puke or whatever until you have tracked it through two rooms of your house.

I will say the night I stepped barefoot on a squishy and very deceased mouse at 3 am that someone had left me as a “present” next to the bed was a bit much. I wonder to this day which of the little monsters did that as I had about 5 or 6 of them at that time and it only happened once.

I got a pair some years ago but they got packed up in a move and I’m not sure in which box they are right now. I’ll probably re-discover them at some point when I get unpacked.

As a diabetic I need to wear special shoes that protect my feet since there will be serious consequences if I don’t. They won’t win any awards for best looking shoe, but they aren’t ugly either. Sort of between I guess. They help a lot though.

Yeah, that’s the kind of shoe I’m more familiar to see on men of my peer group and younger. No boring black leather shoes!
It’s becoming more clear to me now why I am having more difficulty just finding plain, normal shoes. I like boring black leather shoes. But when I have gone shoe shopping recently, it is definitely much harder to find something that’s just plain and normal. And don’t get me started on gym shoes! They’re all neon with vibrant colors. Just give me something with many shades of gray (but not 50 shades). 😜

I didn’t realize I’d become an old fuddy-duddy. 😔

I don’t mind brightly colored dress shirts and ties. I have a lot of those. But when it comes to pants and shoes, I guess I just like the neutral stand-bys.

I have seriously considered just painting my feet with a classy design and being done with it.

I am cursed with duck genes for feet I think, so finding things that actually fit is next to impossible.

I have an ad for someone who actually 3d prints shoes to size, but I strongly suspect that, while they would fit, would be horribly uncomfortable after 15 minutes.

You have a point there. At my daughter’s place of employment, they must wear all black. Head to toe. Add finding all black comfortable, and yet somewhat stylish shoes that don’t look like dockworker shoes is HARD for her.
They have to be stylish but enable her to stand on her feet all day. For some reason in the shoe industry, comfortable equates to butt-ugly. 😠

try Bernie Mevs.
I buy the silver grey ones and also black. Nice slip ons, good soled, very spongy inside, good for walking. I wear them with everything. I don’t give a fig if they “go with” things. I wear mostly black pants anyway.

My problem is that my feet, especially my toes, are apparently thicker than they make shoes for. So I’ll get the length and width right, but then the shoe is squeezing my toes so badly that it’s painful. And there’s no way to check for that when getting shoes other than ordering a ton of pairs and sending bunches back, because it’s not listed anywhere online and you can’t find anything locally that works.

One of the great mysteries of the universe. 😄 I’m getting to the point in my life where I’ll take comfortable ugly shoes any day of the week over nice-looking uncomfortable shoes.

?? Why do men like lawn mowers and saws and hammers and wrenches? At least shoes are cool.
Just for the record, I’m not particularly interested in those things (as I’m sure some women may have no interest in shoes). What really gets me going is a wooden kitchen spoon.

Although I understand many women object to men wearing Birkenstocks, they are very comfortable.
