Why do you attend the Tridentine Mass?

Those are my reasons too 😃

Yes I believe the Novus Ordo was a mistake, and everyday that goes by with it being celebrated is a mistake.

We should all pray not just for a Motu Proprio…but a restoration of tradition in general.

I **approve **of the Tridentine Mass because of its beauty and reverence. But I wouldn’t exactly say I prefer the Tridentine to the Novus Ordo… On that note, I have heard some people say that the Church prefers the Tridentine Mass to the Novus Ordo. Can anyone explain this please? There is another thread called “Church’s Preference” if you can help.

Exactly! :highprayer:

For me it’s a toss up I have an appreciation for them both, but nothing beats the reverence shown at the TLM.

I thought the Tridentine Mass came about in the 1500s at the council of Trent…
No it is at least as old as the 6th century. Its refered to as Tridentine because the Council of Trent codified the Mass. Before various regions had slight differences in practice, Trent enforced the Mass as it was done in Rome onto the rest of the Latin Catholic world, excluding the few exceptions (Sarum use, Ambrosian and Mozarabic rites, Franciscan, Domincan, Carthusian, Carmelite and other order’s liturgies).
